Nope, Aaron was the idea guy for that one. Bendis actually hated the plot himself. That's why he started retconning it first chance he got.

Here's one thing I don't get. With Avengers, at the end of Bendis' run, he undid all of the major changes he brought to the book. Putting the toys back in the box so to speak. To name the obvious ones, he brought back Vision and Wasp right at the end. But with the X-Men, nothing is cleaned up. Professor X is still dead, the past X-Men are still there, and Bobby is gayed out. I don't know if he gave a fuck before or what, but it's interesting if you compare the two.

With his Avengers run, he pretty much dominated the offices, so after he had his fill he didn't mind hitting the reset button. With X-Men, he couldn't handle following other people's plotlines, so he jumped ship while trying to ruin things for anyone who came after him.
