In the very first episode before Bender got electrocuted, his eyes were white and he tried to kill himself after finding out all the girders he bent went into the construction of all the suicide booths lying around

Post electric shock, they turned slightly more yellow and his immorality kept spiking up from there. I don't think it was a programming reset but it certainly caused a new spark of something different.
