I don't agree. If the conflict is boring, it's the writer's fault, not the character. The writer doesn't HAVE to use that villain if they can't come up with a credible way for the hero to win.

However your statement could be true if it were a situation where, for some reason, a writer was FORCED to use a low-powered hero against a high-powered villain again and again and again, but I think that could be said of any villain that has to be reused repeatedly.

Destroying krypton isn't canon, it's just frequently used in things like injustice and smallville. Although if I remember correctly, in smallville he was an AI made by JorEl to determine how to fix krypton, and when he realized it couldn't be he, as you said so eloquently, fucked right off.
