Part of the whole charm and drawing strength of an MMO is character customization and appeal, especially for the art and design in the World of 12. Something third person SMITE style would be better.

Class based PVP is also extremely restricted design and balance wise, and these amateurs honestly can't balance for shit. PVE top-down dungeon crawling allows more diversity in design, spell usage, and less strenuous balance requirements to player enjoyment. It also lets them make a lot of simpler 2D dungeons exploring the world instead of having to model 3D maps that the player will see over and over again.

Which is to say nothing on the stupidity of a smaller company trying to make an "Overwatch-style" game. Go ask Battleborn and Paladins how that shit turned out.

Also overwatch is pretty restricted in its scale. A smaller company could pull a similarly high quality game off if the individual designers were not retarded and didn't botch the character concept art, skills, the (small) maps and balance. It's not elder scrolls or gta.

I think Joris was part of the tutorial island, I'm not sure if he reappears.
The Dofus MMO is pretty good, although it's subscription based outside of the starting area (where Joris is). It's many years older than Wakfu and it shows, although it has a serious problem with bots, at least in the french servers.
Dofus Touch is almost the same, but free. It lacks some of the updates from the last few years (some reworks, Huppermages, Eliotropes, etc.) but they decided to make it evolve differently, so they won't add them anytime soon. It's on tablet and smartphone.
Wakfu MMO is free to play (although the latest added areas are subscription-only for a while), and it's more buggy. It's not bad, but it's kinda dull if you have nobody to play with, and Ankama keeps changing mechanics to fix issues.

There's also Krosmaga, a card game (similar to Hearthstone) but with Plants vs. Zombies gameplay too. It's on PC, tablet and smartphone and it just got its first expansion.
A new MMO for PC, tablet and smartphone is also on the way, it should be a simpler MMO in which you collect your spells instead of unlocking them through level-ups (kinda like a "spell deck"). Your character's appearance would change depending on your spells. It's still on an early stage, and a lot could change, but since it's mainly being made to develop a new motor so they can move Dofus and Wakfu to it, they won't make it as big as their two core games.

Also, the Dofus eggs, at least the primordial and eliatrope ones, are meant for reincarnation. When a dragon (or an eliatrope/dragon pair) dies, their soul goes back to the Dofus until it's ready to be reborn.
There's also many other lesser dofuses, either from lesser dragons (Vulbis, Kaliptus) or not meant for reincarnation (Ice dofus, from Aguabrial who already has the Turquoise dofus).
Weirdly enough, Aguabrial pretty much put 3 dofuses: two Turquoise Dofus (the second one hatched into Bolgrot) and one Ice Dofus.

As for a need, the Wakfu manga does further the BoT's story between season 2 and the OVAs and will have tied some loose ends by the time it never reaches its conclusion, unlike their other comics which are just more villain of the week mid-season-1 content.

I like the conflict in the OVA's. That Yugo ends up going against Adamai even though he was in the wrong for doing so.

Echo was right for a small part. They're becoming the 'means to an end' type of crew. But it's only the 'good guys' way because it tends to work out in the end.
