Why is Dreamworks so hit or miss? About half of their movies are great, and the other half are irredeemable garbage.

The vast majority of their movies are good; they only have a few stinkers. You just have shit taste.

This movie is to make money from people born around 88-92 who had to read the captain underpants books in school.

I should go watch this. I hear it was good.
And I am that demographic exactly. My 6 year old brother saw it without me though.
it's an experimental studio.
they try everything instead of sticking to one formula like Pixar, or their copycat, Disney, does.

I agree with all except flushed away.

I get Pixar films did have a lot of anthropomorphism and "feel good" messages, but I don't think they are very similar narratively or in the characterization.
Sure, both Ratatouille and Toy Story have things talk that normally don't, but they are very different. The Incredibles and Bugs Life? Nothing in common.
I dunno.

Flushed Away is the only Aardman film I don't like. Chicken Run, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Pirates, and Shaun the Sheep were all amazing.
