It was mentioned in another Legion thread a while back that apparently he was only brought back because of fan demand who immediately voted him leader which pissed off whoever was writing at the time so he was written with Superboy constantly second guessing and undermining him so in revenge the fans voted Dream Girl (whose character had generally been "pretty slut") as leader which is why she has that role during the Great Darkness Saga.

Please tell me there's more great LoSH background stories like that.
