Logan actually deserved it.

No it didn't, at all.
>>
>>93689885
Logan was much better than this mediocre mess
>>
>>93689817
This.

But yeah, the thing is, RT never has a middle ground because C- and higher is considered a + to the overall score. So you never really get a middle ground, you always get extreme wins or extreme losses.

Then again, people are going apeshit over this movie What can I say? Spider-Man makes retards excited.

Because RT boils everything down to a simple thumbs up/thumbs down.

This isn't difficult to understand.
>>
>>93689771
The movie was decent but the hype and "SPIDER-MAN IN THE MCU" blinds most people to the movie's flaws.

>>
>>93689971
it's a great movie

why is that so hard for you people to grasp?
>>
So, I just got back from Homecoming.

It was the most fun I've had in a Marvel film in what feels like forever. I didn't see Dr. Strange, Antman, or Thor 2. I fell asleep on Iron Man 3. But this film, this one right here, this was quality Marvel.

Homecoming maintains a ridiculously spot on portrayal of Ultimate Universe Peter early in the Bendis run with what might as well have been Mile's cast of friends and setting. This movie could have easily been about Miles if Peter was introduced into the MCU at the beginning and Miles was set to pick up the pace. Not that I'm advocating that or anything, but it would work in a reality where the license wasn't under Sony hegemony for so long.

I think most /co/mrades will enjoy and have a wonderful time, I know I did.

8/10 would download HD quality with Korean subs when it leaks.
>>
>>93689959
Fuck no

Dude, I just came back from watching Homecoming and I loved the shit out of it, but it is nowhere near the best cape film, it's like the third best Spider-Man film
>>

Okay is still a positive on RT. If 99.99% of all critics thought Homecoming was "Eh, it's all right," it'd have a 99% rating.

DCEU get shit on in the mainstream? Defend that shit twelve times a day every day. Wonder Woman breaks that trend and the mainstream loves it? Turn on it IMMEDIATELY and shit on it as much as possible. MCU is beloved? Spew vitriol about normies, casuals, reddit, etc.

>It was okay
It was really fucking good. The directing, the casting, the acting, all extremely strong.

It didn't get mired down in an origin, it explored the theme of responsibility without a hackneyed speech from uncle ben, and when it decided to be comedic it worked well without having to literally tell a joke.

My one problem with the movie is that it feels its length. It feels like there's about 15-20 minutes that needed to be cut out between the party/van chase and the D.C. scenes. It's forgivable because everything else works so well and the beginning and true climax are fun and interesting, but it's still a small black mark on an otherwise excellent movie.

Don't we? It's the most important moment in Peter's decision to becoming a hero and literally shapes his entire morality. Just because we saw Tobey Maguire and Garfield's Uncle Ben die doesn't mean that empathy or growth just transfers over.

Like maybe because I'm a foreigner (who happens to have citizenship) and my only exposure to your schools is pictures from cousins but eh Pete had 1 white teammate.

The point was that she had stiff competition before anyone had seen any of these movies and knew how good or bad they were. People had been talking about her going up against Transformers ever since the release date was announced - everyone was sure Transformers would stomp Wonder Woman, and they were sure Pirates, Cars 3, and The Mummy would also out perform. Some people even tried to meme that Captain Underpants would beat her second weekend.
>>
>>93695247

Because you've got the gift of hindsight now you cretin. Nobody here thought Wonder Woman would do well. It was agreed by everyone it was going to get dp'd by Pirates and The Mummy. If you suggested WW would do anything above Ant-Man numbers you were laughed off the board never mind it out-grossing BvS or being the second biggest Superhero origin ever
>>
>>93695248
Its whole third act is much worse than WW's fight with Ares.
>>
>>93692484
Honestly the lack of Uncle Ben was the worst part to me. Don't get me wrong all praise to the kid during the scene where he lifts the rubble, but overall I didn't feel the emotional weight that SM1&2 had and I feel Ben would have given that.
>>
>>93695278
>Some people even tried to meme that Captain Underpants would beat her second weekend.

Those poor deluded bastards. I remember the threads. I tried to tell them Wonder Woman had all the hype and nobody was even aware Captain Underpants was out but they thought they had a sleeper hit like Frozen on their hands.
>>
>>93695289
Aside from the main character wearing a Spider-Man costume, nothing about this movie felt like Spider-Man at all.
>>
>>93695285
>>93695285
The 3rd act was fine I certainly wouldn't call it bad by any stretch. I dunno what specifically did you have problem with in act 3?

Also I think people give the Ares fight too much shit it was fine.
>>
>>93695289

They should have done a BvS style montage. To much fun and it doesn't feel like Spider-Man to me. Spidey is a tragic character after all
>>
>>93695314
I thought it was pretty cool when he literally threw a lighting bolt at her. I wish Thor used his actual powers instead of just hitting shit with his hammer.
>>
>>93695310
I have to disagree with that there was a lot of teen drama and a lot of it's destroying my social life.
There was a lot of that in early Spider-man runs, and especially in the retelling of his early years.

I wish Pete did more stuff, cause that kinda bugged me like sure it "didn't want to be an origin story" but the small glimpses of how he is as Peter or than "a loser who's smart" (which let's be real Peter was more of "An asshole who was smart" but Marvel's gonna ignore that like all the time Gwen was a bitch) the movie was LONG but at the same time I didn't feel Peter breathe.
>>
>>93695326
Yeah there was the hint of sadness that was lacking.

Especially when Pete told Liz "I can't imagine what you're going through"

Fuck off Pete your Uncle/Father Figure died within the last year. Don't give me none of that shit about "only him being dead is canon not how close they are in MCU" we know he meant a lot, cause Marvel isn't stupid enough to bring in the "Peter's parents were high level CIA agents and worked with SHIELD too" to the MCU (although I kinda wish ANY form of media would touch the whole "Peter has a SISTER" thing)
>>
>>93695327

These are always funny but only because everybody is trying to deny that they said this would bomb. I'll be completely honest, I never thought this would make over 400mil given the competition and the fact BvS and SS were so hated

Don't misunderstand, I'm glad I was wrong. Simply because WW's success will stop WB from relying on Batman and Superman so much and give the rest of the league a chance

IMO best news about this is that WB now have a bunch of characters that are people's favourites. Batman, Harley Quinn and now WW are characters they can shoehorn into the origin movies of C-listers and they'll bring asses to the seats
>>
>>93695364
i figured it was just a cover to prevent himself from blurting out that he was the reason her dad went to prison. hes not dead like ben, so she didnt experience a "loss", but rather a deep betrayal that peter hasnt yet felt from anyone that held such a significantly deep role in his life. had her dad been killed he likely would have related a lot harder but likely wouldnt even be able to look at her

>>93695340
i liked this peter as a young spiderman but if they dont make him cockier or borderline asshole to the people hes allied with in later films ill probably be inclined to go back to feeling like andrew was the best spidey. i loved this spiderman but it was a little jarring how humble he was

>Btw domestic market is all that matters to Hollywood because they get only percentages of international revenues.

First off they only get percentages of the domestic box office as well, but they get a higher percentage (~60%).

Secondly the foreign market matters as well, it has saved many a film, China only gives 25% of the box office to the studios and yet it's the most important foreign market, and at times THE most important market.

why can't you retards just accept that marvel made another great movie like always?

>>
>>93696345
They make fun movies that are well-received. They've basically found the holy grail for making hit blockbusters (they even made money off Ant-Man for fuck's sake), so it's no surprise everyone else is trying to create cinematic universes. None of the movies have been "great" though.

I'm expecting that Thor will be fun, but I will have forgotten it within a couple of days. That's just the way these go.
>>
>>93696345
Company-wars faggotry, man. There are people who have, just HAVE, to pick a side and shit on the other one just for the sake of being in a group of "peers". People can't seem to enjoy any movie at all anymore and you'd be shit on one way or another for liking a movie that some groups don't like. Shit's just stupid.

That's kinda why I have lost interest in most capeshit now, the Marvel Vs. DC arguments aren't worth it and you can hardly find a place where you can civilly discuss the high and weak points of any of those movies.

Marvel has the greatest combination of critical and financial success relative to the number of movies produced of any movie studio created after the 1930s. Better than Pixar and Lucas Film before the prequels and more efficient at making movies as well. Only James Cameron as a director is in the conversation as being at a similar level from a similar time period and without having had a decline, but he isn't as prolific in production. Marvel is making at least a hit per year now.

Hi, I'm Captain America.

Here to talk to you about one of the most valuable traits a soldier or student can have: patience.

Sometimes patience is the key to victory. Sometimes it leads to very little, and it seems like it's not worth it. And you wonder, why you waited so long for something so disappointing.

How many more of this?
