These could just be variants celebrating the series' history. Firebrand and Dormammu were both in UMvC3.

And people thought Dormammu would look like the movie version.

How so? Both characters were on the datamine leak, the only thing that's almost certainly been debunked is the 28-at-launch bullet point. We're most likely getting 34 characters with 6 additional DLC characters.

I enjoy the covers but that doesn't calm my anger from that awful interview with Combofiend. They spat on the legacy of MvC. They basically confirmed for the most part they barely were going to fix their shit & that because of the movies they thought people forgot who the X-men were & that it definitely was MvC based. Then they had even more balls to spit on Skullomania.
The only good thing from that interview was that they knew Chun li looked horrid.
