The author is also clearly intellectually incapable of devising a reasonable argument against the theory. Instead he decided that he's going to attribute a rather neutral idea the "oppression is bad" and ascribe it to the far left, while painting a straw man as indicative of the far right. It very bad, and this man should be mocked for it.

This fucking activates my almonds and I'm not even a Trektard. Star Trek was real fucking hopeful for its time, and not in a "muh strong minority leads" way. It was right after segregation was ended, the cold war was getting real tense and people still had the prejudices brought on by WWII in their minds.

So along came Star Trek saying "hey, all the people of Earth has united in the future, look see we have a russian and a japanese and a woman and americans and all the races getting along." Shit Spock got fucking shat on by Christians for looking Satanic but the producers kept his look to emphasise that even though he looked shady af, he had a good heart.

Do soapbox cartoonists know anything about subjects older than they are? Doesn't fucking look like it.

I remember once seeing a headline in a newpaper/magazine the went along the lines of "1 in 4 homeless in America are women" or something close to that.
The article went on to talk about how difficult things are for women to find work, handle kids if they are single/teen moms, and how they need more programs to keep them off the streets

But if you stop for a second, you realize something. If 1 in 4 homeless people are women, what of the other 3? If 75% of homeless people are men, where are their concerns and needs addressed?

I've seen this sort of "bias" to helping/coming to women's aid, even though their concerns are in a smaller scale then the men similarly effected in things like Suicide, Rape and Murder. Serious things, but men are often ignored or blurred together in these matters

I don't even get what point of view you're trying to turn this into. Anyway the original comic was probably put together by a leftist retard but they happen to be right in this case, centrism is a cowardly and intellectually lazy position and you should pick a fucking side.

>>

You shouldn't pick a fucking side, because both sides have their ups and downs. You should decide on each problem what you think is the better solution, and fucking ignore the stupid idea of left, right or center, and just go with what you think is right for each problem.
>>
>>93681965

>How to trigger an American

I'll keep this in mind. I mean, this thread is basically 'OH I HATE THESE SMUG ASSHOLES WHO THINK THEY'RE INTELLIGENT, WHY CAN'T THEY JUST BE SMUG ASSHOLES' in a nutshell, but this image just sets people off.

Also, the last panel is completely accurate. As long as things are going fine for people personally, they tend not to give a damn about changing society. People can elect a man who is okay with sending 10 percent of the young population to their death in a single battle, and vote for others who would execute and demonise war heroes for their private lives, all while not giving a damn beyond 'oh, someone really ought to do something about that'.

References to the World Wars, not any current leaders, just pointing that out

It's the same as how agnostics are now more insufferably smug than atheists and religious zealots combined.

No, it's not a sports game, it's called pursuing a real solution instead of making ineffectual compromises. Believe it or not there are right and wrong answers to real life problems and combining them into half-right half-wrong answers isn't going to help you.

Tools are designed to have a single purpose and achieve a single end goal.

Right and left is a massive bundle of a shit-ton of issues with different desired end goals.

It's like "I need this screw driver, but I also need this knife, but they're sold in bundles and I can't mix and match, guess I'll buy the screw driver bundle and try to use the chisel that comes with it as a knife."
>>

Climate change is real and human-driven
A fetus is not a person
Being gay is not a choice
The black experience in America is different from the white one

>>
>>93685076
Depends on your political views, or general world view. Sure you could have a world view that says that everything the right says is right, but that sounds like a pretty stupid person, just like a person who says anything the left says is right.

>>93685101

>>
>>93685146

>So everything that both sides say are ineffectual from the start?

That doesn't follow at all. If I ask you to choose between eating ice cream and dog shit and you smugly reply that you're a centrist and mix the two together, that doesn't mean the ice cream was a bad choice. It means your decision to combine the two was about as bad as the decision to eat dog shit on its own would've been. Or to use a more realistic example, health care in America is awful right now because of bad compromises between free market capitalism and socialism.
>>
>>93685130
Personally I vote conservative and agree with the right on most issues, but say someone is both gay and also firmly believes in gun rights, which side is he supposed to pick?
>>
>>93685192
But that's not what the fuck a Centrist is. The choice wouldn't be between Ice Cream and Dog Shit, it'd be between Ice Cream and a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. And the Centrist wouldn't pour the soup on the Ice Cream, he'd look at whether or not he already ate dinner and pick the one that makes sense for his situation.
>>
>>93685209

You can be gay and conservative. You don't need to be a centrist to still have the ability to sodomize other men. Now if you were gay and wanted special benefits / protections just because of your sexuality then you might want to become a centrist or a leftist, but that doesn't have anything to do with being gay in itself. That has more to do with being a professional victim.

>That doesn't follow at all. If I ask you to choose between eating ice cream and dog shit and you smugly reply that you're a centrist and mix the two together, that doesn't mean the ice cream was a bad choice.
You are saying that EVERYTHING from one side if´s right, and EVRYTHING form the other is bad. I'm saying that some of things from one side might be better then the other, and vise versa.
One side gives you ice cream as gift one, and dog shit as gift two. The other gives you sawdust as gift one, and cake as gift two.
Instead of taking one bad and good thing, I choose the ice cream form the one side, and the cake from the other, only getting what I think is the best choices form both sides.

As previously explained, Centrism isn't about always meeting halfway. You're thinking about Moderates. Centrists generally agree with different solutions to different issues from both sides, and try to form a cohesive front gathering those solutions in a single political faction.

Unfortunately, these groups often fall into the trap of being either too focuse on a single issue or too "uncertain" to the average voter, so real centrist parties rarely last as of now.
>>
>>93685076
Influential power in all its forms has a natural, powered by an inherent positive feedback, tendency to be gathered, accumulated and possessed by a few old and well-known families, clubs and cults at the expense of everybody else and, if left unchecked, this setup will bring an apocalypse. Oh, wait, they aren't allowed to say it anymore.

>>93685306

Centrism doesn't mean forming opinions on a case by case basis. By calling that centrism you're making the assumption that opinions formed on a case by case basis will be politically center of leftism and conservatism. What you're talking about is basically just political agnosticism where you don't know what you'll think until you see each issue individually. Most people eventually notice patterns and stop treating each individual event that pops up like a totally new thing that needs to be investigated as though you've never seen anything like it before in your life, hence the existence of ideologies.

I can look at each new event that comes up super-closely like I've never seen one before, but I don't because I happen to know in advance I'm not going to be in favor of state based solutions to problems the state has no legitimate business meddling with. It's a pretty simple principle. "Hmm, should we implement some new tax funded social program to-" No. We shouldn't. I don't care how nice and reasonable your new social program idea is, pay for it yourself and leave taxpayers out of it.

Leftists practice self-denial and championing of those they deem oppressed or lesser than others and assume people of privilege feel the same way. They fundamentally can't understand how people could want to take personal responsibility for their own self-interest because they gave up on that game a long time ago in their early childhood development. Leftism is a huge paradigm shift away from self-interest and towards the externalization of causality in general, where you constantly make efforts to show how little you're acting in your own self-interest as a way to further solidify your right to demand that the external state take care of everyone's interests instead.

Leftists harbour this delusion that white males have significantly more rights than everyone else, and the reason other people do so bad is because of a lack of privilege, so they want MORE rights than everyone else because in their eyes that makes them equal.

Basically, leftists can't read statistics, so they look at the gender wage gap myth and think women genuinely get paid less an hour for the same work men do, not realizing that the cause of the "gap" is that women work less hours a month.
>>
>>93685713
This, and they also assume that because they're right, they're also the majority. So even if the idiots they insult don't come to their side, it doesn't matter. That person is just a wrong idiot and they don't even need an idiot like them on their side.

The idea of winning an argument in general has changed, The deciding factor on whether or not you win isn't whether your opponent has changed their mind, but is instead defined by how many onlookers you can get to cheer you on and confirm that you're right. Basically whoever gets the most people who already agreed with them to "like" their argument is the winner.

Donald Trump broke liberal discourse. The idea of believing he is in any way capable of being president is so absurd to us, trying to deal with people who believe it is like telling us to treat someone who wears pants on their head as intellectual equals. On top of that, most of the writing I've seen advocating Trump is either emotional drivel or excusing it as a condition of people's regional upbringing instead of an informed political decision.

This. The other political team is just so stupid. Why can't they realize that I, a twenty-two year old college student who has never had to pay bills or take care of myself in any meaningful way, hold the key to how this country should be run.

I have an IQ of 170 so I know what I'm talking about. Basically, just like any other muscle, the brain consumes energy when it is being used. Let me make an analogy you guys can understand: you know those people who walk on a treadmill for barely 10 minutes and then eat a box of donuts and wonder why their workout isn't working? The brain is just like that. Most of you have never pushed it even close to the point where you'd be making any mental gains. If you had you would actually feel tired afterwards. This is why it is difficult to workout if you are as smart as me. I am constantly pushing my brain to the limit and am tired throughout the day because of it. In fact I have trouble even making basic decisions and concentrating because there is so much going on in my head. Although I can get into any college (for undergrad, masters and PHD) and get any job I want, I often overthink things and feel guilty or am pessimistic about situations. Its an annoying tradeoff, but one that I make to maintain my intelligence. My brain works so hard I tend to lose appetite and get headaches which doesn't allow me to even make it out of bed to the gym. This is because I am so smart. I think about everything, from science to math to philosophy to history to suicide. I am very smart.

Trump has a lifetime of experience prospecting business and real estate value. During this time, the only major blunder he's made was trying to break into the casino market. He really, really knows what he's doing when it comes to investments. The reason for his debts are largely because he has so much money wrapped up in things he expects (and probably will) payoff in the future. The large drops in his debt are from a handful of those investments starting to pay off for him.

Say what you want about his political career, but he's one of the best at flipping businesses.

He fakes a lot, he doesn't have the business understanding to get ahead but he knows how people work and manipulates on that front for his own gain. Still doesn't give the right for the government to force its citizens to fund contraception or abortion via taxpayer money. >Being gay is not a choice
Still doesn't give homosexuals the right to marriage, especially if people do not believe in state sanctioned marriage or the benefits given to those who choose to be part of that union. Businesses should have right to discriminate against polygamists, secularists, the religious, on political grounds, or no grounds at all. They're a private entity.

So? Minorities are always treated unequally, because they're the minority. That's how it is when you're outnumbered. This happens in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and all the non-White European dominated areas as well.
>Rich people derive their money from the working class (whose labor they own) and should therefore pay more taxes to benefit said working class
If rich people were simply the worthless middle man, the working class can easily set up their own businesses and go independent, ensuring they keep all the profits they've earned.

>That still doesn't give the State the justification to impose energy taxes, determine national energy policy, or control how people should live their lives, in accordance to "fight" climate change.
That is how you make the change. If something that needs to happen isn't yet economically incentivized, then you either tax or subsidize it until the market adjusts, or until the issue is pointless and then people can decide what to do then. That tactic isn't solely about climate change.

>Businesses...They're a private entity.
Who rely on interfacing with the public in order to be economically viable. If you aren't willing to serve paying customers who are otherwise not disrupting your establishment or the function of your business, then why even bother running a fucking business then?

>Ethnic "minorities" are solely determined by population size, and not also say, political and cultural representation

>God shouldn't be in schools
>You can't force that
Nobody advocates that. They advocate that Public Education does not exist to be sunday school and to do the job of the clergy. Nobody but strawmen care about whatever random practices students choose to do.
And it is enforceable, because in public education the job of teachers and faculty is to teach the children an actual curriculum, and not be sunday school teachers or clergy. And anyone who goes into teaching knows that full well by the time they're actually certified and employed.
Also, this fucking baffles me. There are god knows how many christian denominations in America. Whose particular version of christianity should be in a public school, should people decide that they actually want school to just be an extension of church? Who ends up deciding that for a school, for a school district?

>If rich people were simply the worthless middle man, the working class can easily set up their own businesses

Rich people are the worthless middle man, but the working class can't just step around them. Like all middle-men, they make themselves necessary.

To produce anything you need access to the means of production (obviously). In our glorious Capitalist America, the means of production are all owned by private entities (by definition of capitalism)

This means you can't do anything without the consent, permission, and blessing of the rich, to give you access to what they own the rights to. And they'll only do that if you agree to give them the rights to everything you create and produce. You agree to that or you starve in the streets. It's a good system for the wealthy.

Not know Jesus was using those body parts as analogies of giving up sinful acts.

No the thoughts of hatred of someone is akin to being a murderer. This sin is about you bearing hatred and not seeking to undo that hatred.

The problem is that Obama's Presidency convinced retarded leftists that all of their opinions weren't just "good and anti-racist" but that they were the correct opinions to have because anything that didn't represent Progressive leftist values was automatically racist and evil to them
So Hillary's campaign ran on the idea of "vote for her or you're evil" instead of having a politician who actually listened to the people and she fucked up, but since leftists still believe they are always correct, they just believe that not being leftists makes you an evil racist and it's your fault Trump won

1. No, that’s poor justification without any evidence to support the claims that these imposed policies might actually solve the problem of climate change, if it can even be solved by active human intervention. You can pretend taxing or subsidizing certain projects justifies drastic societal change, but it can also be a detriment to the standard of living of the populace without any beneficial result. It’s the same tactic utilized to guilt trip the Americans to support current and past failures such as The Prohibition Act, the Vietnam War, the War Against Terror, War Against Drugs, and bailing out multinational financial institutions.

2. There’s a gym near my apartment only exclusive to women. Near that gym is a gay bar that only accepts homosexuals and bisexuals. Is it discriminatory to have such establishments? I believe so, but there’s a demand for it, where certain businesses discriminates against the majority to cater to a particular niche market. It happens, but I won’t interfere with their profit-motivated interests.
Even so, Businesses can operate at the expense of profit. Brendan Eich was the founder of his company but was terminated and discriminated against by his own employees and co-workers due to his opposition to gay marriage. The CEO of Starbucks informed his current stockholders to sell their stock if they held anti-gay marriage views. It happens.

3. Name me one ethnic minority that is treated as well as the native populace on a societal, cultural, political, and social level. You can’t. It doesn’t exist. It’s just natural to have in-group preference, especially if it concerns the majority. It is unfair? Yeah, of course. But it happens literally everywhere.
I have visited countries, such as Japan, the Philippines, and South Africa. I was treated well by the indigenous people, but I was informed, under no false-pretenses, that I would never been seen as one of them, nor should I expect equal treatment by their State or private entities given to a natural citizen of their respective countries.
Population size is the reason why minorities will never have equal political or cultural representation. They’re not seen as equals, but foreign guests or lesser citizens, no matter how long they inhabit the area.

4. Who are you to tell parents the education institutions their children must attend? If a Jewish couple wants their Jewish child to attend a Jewish primary school that advocates the Jewish religion, with their Jewish cultural, spiritual, and political customs, advocating their Jewish monotheistic god called Yahweh, so be it. Considering their taxpayers that have no choice but to support the educational system of their country, their Jewish school should receive the same funding as any other school.

A bit of both, he died on the street.

NYC has retardedly high tobacco taxes so he was selling loose smokes.

And he refused to move so some tiny little (Asian?) manlet cop jump-tackles him to get an arm around his neck and bring him to the ground, the damage was already done, by the time he died the hands were already off his throat but he was throughly fucked because his respiratory system was not able to survive even one small (asian?) man.

It was an arrest for a stupidly petty crime and he didn't exactly resist violently, but the first two cops on the scene were a manlet and a lady nearly as out of shape as Garner himself and he was BIG, like six foot or so and 300 pounds.

This is false. Rich people do not derive their money from labor. Rich people derive their wealth from consumerism. They employee people to produce more goods, but they pay wages for that. There's only so far "up" Sarkeesian can get to before she comes crashing down. And considering the recent Vidcon incident, I think she might've started going downhill. Let's hope she keeps it that way, for the best of the video game industry.

Separate anon there buddy. Use clues like obvious references to continuing arguments from previous posts, general formatting styles, and other common elements to guess if you're replying to the same anon or not.

More than one anon can respond, you know.
Saying that your post was reductive meant to say that you know jack shit about getting a business loan, or the likelihood of a business being able to pay that loan back,
especially since you think that any incompetent business plan will convince a bank to give you a loan. Also, I don't want a business loan. I know how complex a good business plan is, and how much that can change when you actually try to put the plan in action.

I'm the anon that doesn't want someone to get butthurt, report me, and get me banned for being off topic.
Classic Doom Patrol can be a halfway intelligent comic, I've seen people dissect some of Arnold Drake's dialogue and point out some of the nuance that he puts into it, though I can't say that this panel is exactly an example of it.

But I know the thread topic was ironic, and for shitposting.

>Advocacy for massive government involvement in education, healthcare, finance, energy, etc.

yes and this has worked out horribly time and again.
>Education
we now have some of the worst schools and education in the 1st world
>healthcare
people have lost healthcare, been fined for not having healthcare, lost jobs, lost work, gone into poverty, and been bitched at for complaining
>finance
because the bailouts saved the rich, and the rest of the country got screwed
>energy
a rapidly dying industry thanks to all the regulations being impossible to fulfill, leading to millions of people losing their jobs.

>Open immigration
This has only lead to crime, violence, terrorism, and economic deprecation for the poor.

>Redistribution of wealth to fix supposed societal and historical failings
Which has been proven to never, ever work. No amount of reparations is going to change people's attitudes or actions. We've had over 60 years of government aid and other "reparations" to the black community and they're arguably worse off now than they were when they first got full civil rights. And all because of their own attitudes and beliefs.

Okay?

Not sure what you're trying to say with that.

Don't have a dumbass business plan, get a loan, pay it off, and then you own the "means of production".

It's not the collective fault of rich people if you're just too dumb to run a business.

no, I think it's more that the Left has done it for sooooooo long that everyone just kinda ignores it now because it doesn't mean shit. The reason you're more aware of the Right doing it now is because the Right has finally decided to play by the Left's rules, because they're sick of taking what they feel is the "moral high ground" that has cost them so much over the last several decades.

tl:dr Right now plays by Left's rules, screaming already started.

I think as the left keeps pushing more left, it's alienating moderates.

The most radical thing the right has done recently is make pictures of cartoon frogs, which the left subsequently declared war on.
