For the record, VIH more heavily represents co-creator JR Goldberg's art direction rather than Jhonen's trademark 'style', which is something I see as always evolving anyway. In fact, I'd argue that ppl gravitate towards his works more on the merits of his writing than anything; as evidenced by his recent Zim comic collaborations, which showcase different variations of the typical style depending on the artist.

Though, one aspect of VIH that I definitely see his influence shine-through are his many zany expressions and wild takes; which tells me that the direction on VIH is definitely not one-sided. I personally welcome this 'new' Jhonen who is more open to collaboration and experimenting.

It's not Vasquez's to do anything with though. Disney paid for the pilot and they're the ones sitting on it.

Vasquez on the other hand has mentioned that despite the series not being picked up, he'd prefer to see the full pilot released than nothing at all; and Disney ain't going to be shopping this around. In fact, nearly all the footage we've seen on YT had been leaked, perhaps impetuously, through his Instagram.
