They're returning to that story after the upcoming two-parter with Sana and Lando.

The main Star Wars comic is IMO one of the most disappointing canon projects. This is a title that realistically will never need to worry about sales or cancellation and instead of using that freedom to tell an ambitious epic, it feels like we're drifting aimlessly with an artist whose only merit is meeting deadlines.

It's possible that they're going to do a Rogue One DLC to add Krennic and Jyn back into the game, but frankly that would be a waste of a DLC, I just want new stuff, not a repeat of 2015.

Also yes, there was multiple interviews in 2015-2016 where Dice admit that they were not fans of the Prequels. Hell for a long time, they insisted that Space Battles weren't fun. I think they still believe this, because they're not even doing any of the space stuff in this game, EA hired a different team for it.

So yeah, Dice are like JJ, they have a huge OT bias. Thankfully Lucasfilm is stamping it out of them though, they're being forced to incorporate PT/TCW stuff because the fans demanded it. But the bias is still there, loud and clear through which heroes Dice is picking.

Worth mentioning that Motive Studios, who are doing the single-player, have been a lot more positive about embracing the PT Era. The lead writer was openly praising the PT, as well as Filoni/TCW/Rebels for bridging the eras and introducing a generation to Star Wars.

We've seen very little of the single-player so far, but we already know that the droids /ss/ uses in Rebels are in the single-player, which is likely just a snippet of the influence the show has had on the game.

An LSG rep also said the book was going to have some Shattered Empire and Lost Stars content. We saw Sheevbots and Jakku in the trailer, which is neat.

TL;DR - The single-player and space battles are being made by people who appear to truly love Star Wars. The multiplayer is being made by OT-Purist Dice who are bloating it with microtransactions, and only including the bare minimum amount of PT content for them to sell the game as having all three eras.

I've never touched any of the Dicefront games, and am basing this off of promotional material and half-remembered internet comments, but I think that the actual hero roles and gameplay, in tandem with wanting to have characters that are comparable for each set of factions are the reason why we're seeing some of the choices that have been made.

There are obviously some characters like Boba or Sheev that don't really have appropriate counterparts, but if you want to balance out Chewie and his gameplay as a sturdy ranged hero, Bossk fits the bill a lot better than Krennic. On the other hand, I'd imagine that Krennic and Jyn have design overlap that makes their inclusion together work.

Obviously this raises some of it's own questions, including some of the decisions that I understand have been made regarding PT hero selection, but to me this strikes me as a decision that's being made for gameplay and balance reasons as opposed to an appeal to "Live out your Star Wars® Fantasy"™.

Yes they have, space battles with have bots for multiplayer.

There will be single-player content with bots, but they haven't yet shown it. They said it's not quite the same as what multiplayer is, it's different and exciting, and you'll be able to play against bots with your buddies just like the old games.

I do think there is a major OT bias still. I mean, just look at the roster, and their attitudes 2 years ago, it's hard to deny.

But you're also right in that they are also trying to keep the Hero characters balanced. Even in the 2015 game, they tried to make sure the Hero and Villains had counterparts to keep Heroes Vs Villains balanced. They also explained that they may need cross-era for "balancing reasons", but this to me just screams that they're compensating because of their OT bias. What was stopping them from having Obi-Wan and Dooku instead of Iden/Lando? What's stopping them from having Ventress and Ahsoka?

Nothing, beyond the fact that they simply prefer having more OT shit, and that means less interesting characters & cross-era to compensate and keep multiplayer "balanced".

What determines which three units are available for spawn in Force Arena? It always feels like I only have shit to deploy in the beginning, while the enemy already comes at me with tanks. As a result I don't even get to scratch a turret before they destroy mine.

Going into ESB he didn't see Luke as a son, just a tool to overthrow Palpatine and tried to use the family connection to coerce Luke.
