why do people think these films are cheesy and haven't aged well
Because it's true.

Because they're not dark and gritty like The Dark Knight and they don't try to force themselves into a genre pigeonhole like most Marvel movies today.

I don't know OP I thought Ant Man was great.
Some of them have aged well like Raimi and OG Singer-men. The X2 nightcrawler scene still looks good.

They are cheesy its a hecking super hero movie. They have aged though but every single movie that isn't a classic that they show in film schools ages in a bad way.
Because they are intentionally cheesy and people fail to see that. The intentional cheesiness of the Raimi films gives them a timeless quality that most modern cape films will not have. Marvel tier quipping (especially the worst ones like in Dr. Strange) will age like shit. No one will understand the humor of Wong grooving to Beyonce in 15 years. Meanwhile, the Raimi Spiderman films will still have a childish innocence and joy that will forever be likable.

the thing is thought the raimi films manage to be darker in some areas than the webb films ever were, also the webb films were cheesy as fuck

The Dock Ock transformation scene in Spidey 2 is cheesy as fuck on purpose, and its miles better than any scene on any MCU/DCEU film

I love how whenever MCU is cheesy its quips and Reddit humor, whenever Sony or WB does quirky cheesy shit its 'on purpose'.
>Raimi film
>Cheesy.
NO WAY! Next thing you'll tell me is that Evil Dead 2 is over the top.
