Honestly? Digital cameras.
Switching over to digital filming makes reshoots infinitely more affordable. Back in the days of film you had to make sure you got it right because if you didn't another scene's worth of spools of 8mm meant you'd be out hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Digital cameras make you less careful, but also means you don't skirt disaster as closely to begin with, so it's a tradeoff.

Regardless of the director or the number of times the trailer was seen, are people willing to take a third chance on a Thor movie? This will still do well and will at least get decent reviews but this could be like Doctor Strange where it comes out, makes some money, and is immediately forgotten.
