I really disliked the episode that introduced us to Clyde's parents because of how cringe-worthily they made sure they were gay.

Who says this? No one says anon's mom and dad. We say anons' parents. This is my biggest nitpick because they couldn't just say "parents."
And then when we see their house the men are stereotypically cleaning every speck of dust. They couldn't just have them behave normally. When you do these types of things on television you want to bring as little attention to it as possible. You want to be able to include homosexuals without anyone noticing. Normalize gays don't, make it seem as if your sexuality makes you special

the short answer is that dykes are generally more socially acceptable than fags. That's just a fact of the weird asymmetry of gender roles in relationships, and how they are perceived.

the more in-depth answer is that Clarence was clever in how they slowly introduced Jeff's moms. the first hint was some episode where Jeff kinda just casually says "(...)my momS(...). When this happened there were some really hard core debates about whether he said "moms" as in the plural of mom, "mom's" as in the possessive sense, or just the hippy-ish slang of tacking an S onto the end of "mom". Later we see the inside of his house, with low-detail pictures on the walls of two women together with Jeff, and other pics of them.this reinforced the 2 moms theory, but it could always just be explained away as sisters or BFFs or etc.

And then they just flat out did an episode with Jeff's 2 moms. it wasn't a mind blowing shocker, or something that forced you to reevaluate what you thought, because they slowly eased into the idea.


By contrast, Loud House just fucking forced the reveal that Clyde has 2 dads without any foreplay. Even Lincoln, who spends a lot of time breaking the 4th wall and explaining shit to the audience, never once brings up how weird it is that Clyde has 2 dads. It is just a normal thing in this universe that doesnt need explanation. And on one hand, I kinda applaud TLH for normalizing homosex in a way that didn't draw attention or make it weird. But Clarence was a lot more subtle and slow with the introduction of homosex

Well learned habits are a part of it, but there's been research that's shown that a mother simply being overweight or obese before and during pregnancy will make a kid more susceptible to becoming overweight in life. Even when factoring for the parents' eating habits.

So if for some reason the infant of obese parents was adopted and raised by average parents right away, that kid will still have a higher chance of being overweight. Even babies being obese is becoming more common.

The lesson here is to just not be fat and cause a cycle like this

Because while both sets of parents are shoehorned in both shows, it's easier to ignore Jeff parents than Clyde's.
That's because Clyde, as most of TLH, are one dimensional characters, and this things settled upon him feel like pure pandering. You can say whatever you want about Clarence, but unlike TLH, it has different stuff going on most episodes.
It doesn't helps that Clyde is showed like a nearly perfect character towards the protagonist problems while Jeff is clearly shown as the most flawed character in the cast.

This really reflects the nature of both shows and the different takes that a Slice of Life cartoon can have.
While the SoL allows you go everywhere with the plot (unlike lore driven shows), some cartoons, like Clarence, take that opportunity to "go everywhere" with the plots, and those diversity takes just get lost between all the experimental stuff they do. Other cartoons in the other hand, take that SoL nature and decide to go nowhere and make all the episodes under the same 2-3 formulas, and in that situation, all the diversity stuff that the cartoon tries to approach feel like mere pandering.
Clarence is a clear take from the former and The loud House from the latter. Now if you think one executed better their nature than the other is up to you.
