Both have been changing personalities so often during that whole night that I have no idea how should I react anymore, the pacing is so fucked that it spends pages doing absolutely nothing, then we are given only one or two that try to make sense, yet they fail to recapture people's interest.

The flashback really messed things up since to the point of the play, she obviously looked ready to kill herself. But then it was retconned and her decision turned to be mainly because she wasn't going to be able to make amends with Mike anymore. It is just a mess of a flashback that turned things more confusing.

Why does Daisy have to be such an unfaithful cunt? Every good treat of her character is undermined by the fact that she will never be able to be in a true relationship because she is unable to let go an elementary school crush.

This also makes Abbey come to mind as he never deserved such bad development after all that therapy he went through along Daisy, it just feels wrong to suddenly see him probably leave the comic forever because suddenly now he is unable to control his anger issues. He is a bit perfect, especially with his tragic backstory where he was the only good boy which caused him to get tangled up with the boss' mistreated goil, which meant he was only lackeying so hard for Alejandro because he'd get murdered otherwise.

After the ~2 page shift from Augustus 1.0 to 2.0 he doesn't have much in the way of negative qualities. His snarkines is portrayed positively as he bants with Lucy, and even when he calls her a shit it's followed by sincere advice that really helps her.

The only is blemish when Lucy tries to follow him home and he suddenly flares with anger. Otherwise he's a cute sad but stoic boy.

I just don't like Mary Sue being used to define characters, to me it's as annoying as "literally Hitler". I see it tossed around casually enough, yes Mary Sues (or simply plot armor) should not belong in stories but you shouldn't be so generous in using it. It was annoying enough when people used it to describe Ashi from Samurai Jack.

Ok, explain me how is Augustus a mary sue, or even better, what is your definition of a mary sue? From all the characters that have been given backstories in form of flashbacks, he is one of the very few whose past make complete sense with how he always behaved since his very first appearance. He never meant evil when he coerced Daisy into dating Mike as he really felt, and still feels something for her, but at that point it was the only way to save her from the threat that was Alejandro during those times. He has horrible parents and always had to rely on himself to get food, he was a good, but trapped boy trying to find escape to his shitty life, family and delinquent "friends" and he was actually doing it by being studious and trying to get a college scholarship, yet was stuck because he had no money to pay to finish high school and, most important, he's the only one who had the balls to banter back at Lucy about how a crybaby she had been just because one single guy didn't like her, yet still had friends who loved her and a caring family, something he obviously envied yet still went on his way to slap some sense on her.

Augustus along Paulo is one of the better written characters in this comic because he has had a believable character growth with fears and worries and he aknowledges his personality is what has pushed people away, sometimes for the better.

I can agree that he being an asshole to Abbey doesn't really have an actual explanation, but at least we're told he tricked Daisy because it was the only way he knew to "save her" from both her own Mike obsession and from Alejandro, who right now is irrelevant to the story. But he went with Alejandro because he didn't know better and that is the most believable scenario for a poor kid who's offered a group of friends who appreciate his "skills".

I actually want to see him interacting with the drama table soon, especially Daisy. I mean, if PauloxDaisy is inevitable, having Augustus as a potential love interest for Daisy would be very interesting.

As it stands, neither Lucy or Augustus really fit with any other character in the comic, and it'd be a shame to see them end up alone or with randoms.

Even if they talk things out, Mike x Lucy remains a terrible misrepresentation of a "healthy" relationship.
