Or rather, was it good enough to be worth watching now that it's dead?

SVTFOE got me back into cartoons this year and while I can see Gravity Falls is/was popular and have heard good things about it, I've also heard a lot about how much it suffered from Mabel being a typical do-no-wrong female lead who does a lot of dumb shit the show never makes her take responsibility for, and Dipper being a typical beta loser male lead who the show doesn't respect.
Is it enjoyable enough despite this or would I just be disappointed?
