Black Cat has been an enemy of Fisk, Hammerhead, Owl, and other mobsters for a very long time, and has been a thorn in their side. That is a character staple. Suddenly making her Hammerhead's boss is uncharacteristic of both.

Diamondback has always been a small time thug, only important because he was connected to Luke Cage. Black Mariah and Cottonmouth were higher up than him, though not by much. So him suddenly intimidating Hammerhead, who has been a big player for a long time, is stupid. Someone like Tombstone would make more sense, since he has been known to make his own rackets.

i'm not a fan of diversity for diversity's sake. but i see the need for change after stories get run around the mill and eventually into the ground.

but that's no reason to change the character. if there's anything that all sides could come to terms on is introducing a new character to fill the role. all those things that we remember happened and they serve as a reminder to the new role.

i'm trying to look at it as a "robin effect" role that has meaning and you can spin different ways while still maintaining the rich history we remember. the new role is trained by the existing character who eventually just checks in once they get into their groove. which still keeps that character in frame and it's not like we just shoved off the original in favor of diversity.
