Have him turn himself in to the army during zod's invasion. He is amnesic, doesn't know he is a Martian, he believes he may be the alien they want, the army knows superman already turn himself in so just caught him and start the cadmus project.


Make cadmus and the government his enemy as opposed to superman being the ally of the army. He isn't a detective yet, he isnt a drifter, he defends animals or some shit like that and has spend decades in the Amazon or something trying to protect some dumb tree, focus on his extreme empathy. The big reveal. Is that in the army there's some white Martians, they are getting things ready for the hyperclan. Martian manhunter will get all his memories back in some adaptation of Morrison JLA.
