Is it worth reading? I'm a superman fan and looking for a new run to read was wondering if it was any good.

Not really, no.

What's a run you would recommend. I've read Bryne, Morrison, Johns, Busiek, Rebirth, Pak, some Jurgens.

Honestly, I only read it mostly because of McGuinness' art. It was fun and silly sometimes but it gets bad when Our Worlds at War kicks in.
Was there a story reason for the black in his S emblem?

Casey on Adventures and Kelly on Action.

Officially, because of all the people who died in Our Worlds At War.
Personally, he was mourning his parents, who he belived had died during the war.
Extra-officially, because 9/11.

Thanks man I'm going to check Kelly's run.
it's a blast
read it
>>93652431
Nope. Better off reading the other Superman titles around this time.

Kelly and Casey's runs crossover with Loeb's runs a lot
>>93652431
I unironically like Loeb's run very much.
For All Seasons is the best Superman story
>>93652584
Read Bronze Age nigger, start with O'Niel's Sandman saga and then move onto Elliot S Maggin.
>>93652431
It's pretty decent. If you're a Superman fan you'll probably enjoy it.
>>93652431
>>93654056 - likewise here
I like a lot of Loeb, some people here are salty on him for various reasons related to the Marvel animation and some other stuff. His run on Superman/Batman from the 2000s is pretty fun.
Look for the Superman 80 page giants, you can fine high quality scans for those on line.
>>93652626
Our World was a Berganza ordered cross-over, FWIW.
>>93652584
Read Superman adventures and Moore's Supreme.
>>93652431
No, it's shit. Just like everything Loeb has ever done. And Superman from that era was generally mediocre because of the constant crossover mode.

Try Return To Krypton or The Dominus Effect

Superman/Batman was pretty good and his supergirl too
