It's hard to fuck up a good character like Raven her art style looks like shit but she is still likable same with Starfire she does look like dogshit in TTG but at least its the same voice actress.

Because she isn't designed to be a goth girl but designed to be a friendly ghost with a goth girl under it. She has two completly different yet similar designs and the transition between them is pretty much always smoothly. And the friendly ghost design still fits with the source material. The two designs give the writers an easier tme in giving her a shit ton of personality.
