This show was in such a weird place, timewise.

It was ahead of its time and would have fit in perfectly if it had debuted a few years later and be revived by Adult Swim.

But, by then, it may have been too far removed from the first Clerks movie.

Disney hated it so much they only showed the two episodes. That would probably have given the show the "renegade" indy clout for AS to have picked it up. But could AS have afforded to make new episodes that early? Maybe, maybe not.
