I'm impressed that the artist drew lettering on the wrench.

It's a shame.

Goddamn how does a 30 year old comic manage to blow all of modern marvel's political crap out of the water, yet still be resonate today.

Yeah, reminded me of the Raimi Spider-men films. Ugh, just ugh.
A bump for the the afternoon crowd.

This is one of the all time great Cap speeches.
I was about to ask "What if Captain America had been unfrozen today?" but I guess that's what the MCU is, and it's pretty underwhelming.

Basically Captain America comics stopped in the 40's. Then there was a very brief revival in the 50's where Steve Rogers was a college professor after the war and he and Bucky go fight Commies. But then the comic got canceled.
Then in the 1960's, Lee and Kirby brought back Captain America in Avengers as if those 1950's stories never happened.
But then someone (I assume Steve Englehart) found a way to incorporate the 50's Cap stories into continuity and explained it as this guy who was a big Captain America fan who discovered a Super Soldier Serum formula and got the government to make him (and his sidekick) into the new Captain America and Bucky. His "Bucky" was the guy who eventually became Nomad in the 80's and 90's I think. The problem was the serum was unpure and started making him unstable and that led to them being placed in cryogenic slumber. Eventually they got revived and fought the real Captain America.

I'd say that in-universe Cap is to the Marvel U what Supes is to the DC U. No one else inspires people like them, although Secret Empire will probably fuck over Cap hard.
>thats right goys! multiculturalism is good! blacks and jews are your friends!
>fuck putting Americans first!
this is honestly not so different than political comics today. It's simply better written as an actual story. It's almost no different from that comic where Red Skull is a stereotypical nationalist and is supposed to be the villain, where it goes from speeches to people becoming suicide bombers.

Fuck the fascist fake Cap, tho. Problem is, the word "freedom" has so many different definitions to different people, that it's nearly meaningless as a conjuring token.
This was the cringiest thing I've read in a while.
Good job.
