Hyper crisis isn't real. It's very obivous where they're going with Doomsday clock. Rebirth is a stop gap before deboot things to the way it should've been.

A streamlined long ongoing universe.

Then again most people are in need of being spoon fed to.

I think the obsession with continuity and the continuity fuck ups and Grant Morrison smoking too much weed isn't that worth it unless the stories are entertaining.

It was the weird ending to Future's End, which I really enjoyed. Nothing Ends.jpg
68KB, 595x309px
>>93638325
OP seems to have abandoned the thread so let's discuss this.

Let's look at what Manhattan's supposedly done thus far and try to relate it to OP's idea to some extent.

>Keeps the Flashpoint universe alive
>Tries to enter Earth Prime at the end of Titans Hunt
>The Button
>Bruce questions the validity of being Batman after what his dad told him
>Quest For Hope in Hal Jordan and the GL Corps doesn't go as planned
>Revival of the Blue Lantern Corps fails
>White Lantern ring is split into other rings of the spectrum
>Saturn Girl?

If Manhattan's endgame is one big cohesive universe, why does any of that shit stand in his way?
>>
>>93642275
>Revival of the Blue Lantern Corps fails
why can't we have nice things
>>
>>93642275
When it comes to Saturn Girl and the Legion in general I kind of like to think that either the Time Trapper or the fact that they're not a constant in the same way as most characters/teams are is fucking with him. They're more susceptible to change and the butterfly effect and that might be affecting his ability to control them in some way.
>>
>>93642390
>>93639581
Well, OP's included Time Trapper above, so let's assume he DOES play into the over-arcing scheme of things.

At the beginning of the Button, Saturn Girl is basically saying that the Legion are all gonna die.

That might have something to do with Superboy.

>>93640752
This could be Superboy's crest we're seeing at the end of the Button.
>>

1492589011493.jpg
2MB, 1988x3056px
>>93642647
Maybe Manhattan is getting rid of them to streamline his perfect universe, or the Trapper is trying to get rid of them for one reason or another. If it's Prime Trapper the reason might be that he doesn't think they add anything to "his" life or because they aren't his Legion/have changed too much.

It might also be Superman's crest, maybe because he's supposed to help them with something in the future but Manhattan is preventing them from reaching Supes which will eventually lead to their demise. Perhaps they aren't supposed to be a part of his world, or perhaps he's trying to replace them with a Legion that matches his idea of them.
>>
>>93642844
"Nothing stops."
"Nothing ever ends."

I'd lean more toward Manhattan if that line's of any significance.
>>
>>93642973
It sounds like his stick but it's also seems like something that could be related to the Trapper/time travel or meta commentary in general.

If one branch is that removed, it bleeds back into your books again. If one book has Wally with blue eyes instead of Green or Jack instead of Jay Garrick, it will try to seep back in. Hypertime.

Remember the connection with the watch and time in the current Flash run and Watchmen..

Infinite Crisis was similar. Folded what they wanted back in but mostly just kept going. No value in a full deboot.
>>
>>93645299
Depends on the definition you use, but the "living narrative" one is definitely true. Even Jim Lee is on board with it:

>If you look at “Crisis on Infinite Earths” to even New 52, they’re all attempts to do some bookkeeping, and tighten up everything. But then you saw the mythology itself almost has its own sentience and will to define itself, because it’s stories are kept in all our heads, and expressed through our creativity and the work that we do. In a way, it has spoken and said, “No, there must be multiple versions.”
>>
>>93645434
What, a bunch of pot smoking writers like to keep their stories/old stories they like going? That doesn't mean the "narrative is alive" or something gay like that. It just means Don't ever give Grant Morrison total control of anything.

>>
>>93645470
All of the narrative is alive. Certainly more so post Zero Hour which Hypertime was introduced.

>>
>>93645679

So has OP made his point or what?

'Cause I'm just teetering on the brink of thinking we've come to some sort of revelation here.

Dr. Manhattan, Psycho-Pirate, Darkseid, and Time Trapper are all relevant to Doomsday Clock.
Ripples are traveling backwards in time.
>>
>>93646550
I was actually just thinking about how they correlated the map of the multiverse to the Krypton element's atomic structure.

Manhattan's symbol is the Hydrogen atom, the first element ever to form in the universe.

Psycho-Pirate has Watchmen comics and is aware of the Multiverse.

Comics are how the multiverse "communicates" with all of its different universes.

I know I'm trying to tie all that together, but I don't know how to do it competently.
>>
>>93646550
Is Time Trapper still Superboy Prime?

elements typically change into other elements via either beta or alpha decay
beta decay is when either a proton or a neutron decays into the other and releases the charge into a positron or an electron, which escapes
alpha decay is when the nucleus releases a helium nucleus (called an alpha particle)

Gear up, lads.

Well a couple of years ago I thought DC was undoing the New Earth continuity to give back the different heroes in different earths, all because Prime Earth had no JSA and golden age heroes only appeared in Earth 2. Although the only crosses between these two were with Huntress and Power Girl they practically were still their first meet-up. Earth 3 was the third cross then so I've been thinking on this:
>PostF Earth 3 was the first universe shown to be destroyed by the Anti-Monitor and PreC Earth Three was one of the first universes destroyed in the first COIE issue.
>The sorta adverted COIE at the end of Convergence happened right before the Darkseid War and the return of the Anti-Monitor in JL
>Anti-Monitor remembers every crisis, reboot and alteration
Some little similarities
>Ultraman died erased from existence in both ocassions
>Lois Lane and Lex Luthor were married in the PreC Earth Three and had their only child, Alexander Luthor, before their deaths, Lois Lane/Superwoman and Lex Luthor/Mazahs were lovers and SW gave birth to their child in the middle of the battle against the Anti-Monitor (although the kid turned into Darkseid after stealing the powers of the God tier JL)
That's some of the biggest things before the rebirth
But I think I'm raving

Owlman and Metron disappeared from the moon at the end of Darkseid War, leaving the Mobius Chair behind.

We all know how Rebirth brought back the possibility of the PreF continuity being a hidden canon all along, the return of Wally West (and later the reveal of Jay Garrick sharing the same fate) Manhattan's involvement in the DCU but I've noticed.
>Psycho-Pirate back in his classic interpretation for Batman
>Before the death of Superbro there were two Supes, along with PreF Supes, one of them young and single (Diana kinda being an exception) while another one older and married with Lois Lane, with the difference of having a son, just as in the original crisis
>Multiplicity was an arc where different Supermen were involved together in a multiversal scheme (kinda makes you remember about the final crisis)
>Probably can count Bruce and Selina having a little Mandela Effect about their first meeting
>The evil I-Ching disguised as Fui Onyui and naming himself the beginning (cover of Detective Comics #1) was also curious
>Finally the tuning tower embedded under the Fortress of Solitude at the end of Dark Days, remember Prime and Alex built one in the North Pole when the Infinite Crisis happened

You may think this is stupid and meaningless, and I am a fag that is only grasping at straws but what if DC is planning on another infinite tier crisis?
Manhattan is obviously the biggest player involved in the Rebirth event, but if Rebirth is just as big as I am saying we're still lacking of a needfuly important part of the COIE and the IC to be like them. Or maybe it is just there waiting to reveal itself?

>Smashing Pumpkins did The Beginning is The End is The Beginning for Watchmen
>Manhattan's Beginning is Osterman's End and the Beginning of a post-human era

>Morrison described multiversal frequencies as songs

Smashing Pumpkins are part of the hypercrisis.

I think they're doing a Countdown to Final Crisis right now and Manhattan is the main attraction but not the final villain.

Oz & Manhattan are surely going to feature in Doomsday Clock then Prime/The Reader vs The Gentry will feature in the actual Crisis.

Just think of it as having made a branching off multiverse where pre-crisis multiverse exists in its infinite glory never to interact with the main multiverse again until some writer ever decides to go back to it because trying to fit it into the main multiverse makes everything too bonkers.

Fuck off Empty Hand. You keep trying to prune back the multiverse but life finds a way. The DC Multiverse is more than a creation. It does not belong to its creators. It is living organism and it will grow and it will protect itself.

You have no idea what kind of natural defenses the multiverse has.

>Endgame

Who knows what the plan is, but I don't think he's particularly concerned with the DC multiverse. He just harvested some time like what the Final Crisis monitors did with Bleed or The Gentry did with despair.

He might consider the DC nothing more than fiction. That is after all what it was in his home universe. And the Monitors thought of DC people as "germ people".

Who knows what exactly he wants. He might be trying to find the "creator" of the DC multiverse, which would be hard to do because the DC multiverse was a self-creating flaw in Monitor Mind. He might have stolen something within that time that could be of use to him.

We think he's the big dick god in charge of everything, but what if he's in danger? What if he's trying to find out how to create superheroes in his home reality, not the kind he's used to be the kind that protect universes from cosmic threats?

There's a lot of things about the wider omniverse Osterman doesn't know about. He might need help to fight off the Empty Hand and Gentry for all we know.

That's the natural form of 5D imps. They looks like big freaky monsters and the imp you see is just a front to interact with you.

Those big monsters we see in Multiversity are 5D imps like Batmite. One even helps the heroes kill one of the Gentry, the big one trying to eat the Hall of Heroes.

Garbage. Self-referencing garbage. A crutch. Anytime an author is lazy, they can reference something obscure (or major) from the past and fans will yell "HYPERCRISIS".

Morrison has been doing this forever to pretend to be deep.

Dr. Manhattan is trying omniversal chemistry. He's taking bits and pieces from different multiverses. He took a bit of time from the main 52 multiverse and something from the Dark Multiverese that's made it unstable.

He's trying to create his own multiverse the best way he knows how-putting pieces together like a watch.
>>
God fucking damnit, how could normie (normal person) could ever go into DC and understand anything? It required me to read every Post Crisis big event, almost all meaningful JLA stories, Batman stories, Superman, GL, Flash etc. And it's still pretty hard to remember and understand everything.
>>
>>93652739
Fuck normies. Hypercrisis already has too many of them. Literally nothing was ever not been ruined by normies trying to include themselves.
