It was the weird ending to Future's End, which I really enjoyed. I thought it was just a sloppy comic book the first time I read it with some neat interactions at points, but with the revelation of DC Rebirth and how great they're being with everything being canon etc. it just makes Convergence look like a drop of whiskey with Rebirth being the reservoir.

Maybe Manhattan is getting rid of them to streamline his perfect universe, or the Trapper is trying to get rid of them for one reason or another. If it's Prime Trapper the reason might be that he doesn't think they add anything to "his" life or because they aren't his Legion/have changed too much.

It might also be Superman's crest, maybe because he's supposed to help them with something in the future but Manhattan is preventing them from reaching Supes which will eventually lead to their demise. Perhaps they aren't supposed to be a part of his world, or perhaps he's trying to replace them with a Legion that matches his idea of them.

Well a couple of years ago I thought DC was undoing the New Earth continuity to give back the different heroes in different earths, all because Prime Earth had no JSA and golden age heroes only appeared in Earth 2. Although the only crosses between these two were with Huntress and Power Girl they practically were still their first meet-up. Earth 3 was the third cross then so I've been thinking on this:

Who knows what the plan is, but I don't think he's particularly concerned with the DC multiverse. He just harvested some time like what the Final Crisis monitors did with Bleed or The Gentry did with despair.

He might consider the DC nothing more than fiction. That is after all what it was in his home universe. And the Monitors thought of DC people as "germ people".

Who knows what exactly he wants. He might be trying to find the "creator" of the DC multiverse, which would be hard to do because the DC multiverse was a self-creating flaw in Monitor Mind. He might have stolen something within that time that could be of use to him.

We think he's the big dick god in charge of everything, but what if he's in danger? What if he's trying to find out how to create superheroes in his home reality, not the kind he's used to be the kind that protect universes from cosmic threats?

There's a lot of things about the wider omniverse Osterman doesn't know about. He might need help to fight off the Empty Hand and Gentry for all we know.

Dr. Manhattan is trying omniversal chemistry. He's taking bits and pieces from different multiverses. He took a bit of time from the main 52 multiverse and something from the Dark Multiverese that's made it unstable.

He's trying to create his own multiverse the best way he knows how-putting pieces together like a watch.

God fucking damnit, how could normie (normal person) could ever go into DC and understand anything? It required me to read every Post Crisis big event, almost all meaningful JLA stories, Batman stories, Superman, GL, Flash etc. And it's still pretty hard to remember and understand everything.
