Skip the origin. Start the movie with this. Make the movie about curing Ben. Have Reed fuck up bad and turn to Doom who promptly betrays him. Add in classic scenes like Thing whomping Doom's ass without killing him, getting your action and your hokey moral lesson that Ben is still a man on the inside. It really shouldn't be that hard.

I honestly think you have to get rid of their kids. It makes the four thing awkward and having a god child that doesn't fix everything or fuck everything up seems pointless. Go in the opposite direction of dead pool and go super family friendly. Make Ben look more like the coomics so he'll appeal to kids as action figures and plush dolls. Don't rush to make Doom the villain. Build him up over a few movies as a worthy adversary in a side story then unleash him as this nigh unstoppable force in the third or forth movie. Start the movie with Reed winning over Sue fairly early, show the audience why she sticks with him through all his science bullshit.

Aside from Steve Blum as Annihilus, I like most of this. A lot. Chiklis and Gruffod were really good choices casting-wise, regardless of the scripting of the movies being mediocre. I'd like to see them reprise the roles with better plots and writing.
As far as who I'd rather have than Steve Blum (who I love as a VA, mind you)... Steve Staley/Steve Cannon with a little bit of filtering and ring modulation. Dude voiced Harry McDougal from Outlaw Star and Griffith from Berserk. He can do creepy.

I can handle Franklin. I've handled Franklin my whole life, to be fair. It's the insufferable genius kindergartener that I can't handle. Hickman even overemphasized her. For all the little flaws I could gloss over on his otherwise good run, the overabundance of Valeria manipulating things and saving the day despite the "dumdum adults" got on my nerves.
Also, a balance between standard superheroics and weird adventures would be nice. Like the Lee/Kirby years. Family is a part of the FF, but it's not the sole focus. People have really misinterpreted that over the years.

Easy. Give it the First Class treatment and set it in the past.
The Fantastic Four are an inherently dated concept, right down in their DNA. It's born of the idealism of the space race and the old school nuclear family. Johnny Storm is just James Dean. Reed is every 50s sitcom dad right down to smoking a pipe. You shouldn't be trying to update the characters; just make it a period piece.

Then if you absolutely must do a modern day take, save it for the sequel and use time travel. Have the culture shock be part of their character arcs.

That's not happening at this point. Rumors were Silver Surfer/Galatcus got back to marvel. I mean, how if it happened I could see Avengers 5 being Galactus with whatever avengers are left in place of the F4. Ant-man, wasp, wanda, dr.strange, spider-man, BP? Galactus would probably have multiple heralds.

The reason the sony deal happened is because Kevin had connections to people at sony. Specifically Amy. Avi Arad kinda resents Feige. Feige has no connections to anyone who made the 2015 F4 movie. There's little hope for a dialogue to start there and rights to shift around
