They never say this but one of his superpowers is getting women to be attracted to him. Hes of Royal alien blood and normally having his children kills the woman who bears them, so he outputs some sort of hormones that makes people want to become willing sacrifices.

This is never said anywhere in the series but its strongly hinted at, especially in the Issue 0 comic.
