I remember during the intermission chapter Lila mentioned that Friedrich has a "back up" plan when they were talking about mortality.

I think Friedrich has a plan in case of his death where he's gonna use something similar to that soul capturing technique they used on Gustaff. Might put his soul into a robot body or something.

There's also the issue of Ofelia being super pissed at Poppy for some reason, so he has to live long enough for Poppy to screw him over somehow.

I also remember from Poppy 2 during that foreshadowing page near the beginning that three plot points were foreshadowed. The god's blood with the mutated deer or whatever falling from the upper levels, Crodilus Panzer and his rebel army, and the Lagamo robots.

Assuming that each of these will be what the main plot revolves around for a good 25% Poppy's story (with the last 25% being too spoilery to even hint at right now, likely endgame with the Specter) the issue of robots should be fairly significant to the overall story.

Also I remember Morbi describing Poppy as a story about cute animals dealing with their own mortality. So having different characters having different perspectives (Poppy accepting it, Lily struggling with it, Friedrich possibly cheating it) would be part of it.
