I always assumed it was a theory that all writers/the best writers are part of a conspiracy that all comics are actually in the same existance just in separate universe. The Hypercrisis is that the comics keep referencing one another until the references become more pronounced and eventually we have a full mega crossover event where it turns out everything for decades was leading up to this one event...
