Are you dumb? Stunt actors can do crazy shit but they don't necessarily know how to act. You could say the same for professional actors but that's beside the point.

Also, the actor shouldn't do dangerous stuff because if he hurts himself the whole production is fucked. See original Kamen Rider series. It's neat to see the actors "not being divas and doing the stunts themselves" until someone gets hurt.

This is basically it. If the stunt guy breaks his leg you can go around it or find another lookalike. If the lead breaks his leg you just don't have a production.
