However the second episode of the second season starts him on one of the best character arcs.

It's great. He went from being everybody's most hated character to one of the best.

That's his greatest strength and his greatest weakness and will probably be the trait that Toffee crosses (unless it comes down to simple self-preservation first)

I don't think that's a good indicator. The castle and minions weren't that valuable, Star easily broke in and beat them when she got serious. Ludo's kingdom would have been snuffed out or conquered in the very first episode if she wasn't so nice. The crystal did all the real work and he probably got that at Quest Buy.

Like one is supposed to be tolerated by adults and aimed a narrow audience (ex. younger than Star Vs.), while one is written so that adults could get into it as well and is aimed at a more general audience, despite both being for kids.

Mainly what I was getting at by mentioning this show is that even though there was a /co/ fandom for a time in the past, adults who aren't parents probably wouldn't go out of their way to watch it. Star Vs. by comparison has adult fanbases on multiple sites from people who also aren't watching it with kids, and events designed to have more adults than children.

The episode right before Ludo learned it, the show made a point that Star doesn't know how to do it. In the episode after Ludo masters it, we see that Star is suddenly able to use green levitation to pick up garbage.
