Abaddon obviously thinks hes writing a good character. Ive talked with him before and he admitted that the party of main characters was all female because he was attempting to make good female characters.

You arent all wrong but Allisons flaws is that she isnt an interesting enough character to carry the story and Abaddons writing is he biggest short coming. His strength is visuals (Allison actually looks stunning in this new costume) and the art of the comic is the only thing keeping it from failure.

The story is moving too fast and its missing essential parts of its development. Allison desperately needs more attention or she will end up the worst part of her own comic.

Don't just look at what she does, look at why she does it.

The whole page about her doing her best to look the best for their date and him barely doing anything seems superfluous if we weren't meant to dislike him on some level.
You could say it's because she was really trying to lose her virginity and it symbolized different levels of investment in the relationship, but during the intro scene it's he that is all about getting the freak on and she that is hesitant.
One of the less favorable ways to interpret abbadon's intention with him is that he's a FUCKING WHITE MALE. Guys that show too much interest in sex are creepy, a man not having to put on make-up is horribly injust and him being presumed the intended heir over the girl is chauvanist male privilige.

So. A possible direction for this comic to go in: Allyson completes her journey and saves her boyfriend, then instead of claiming her prize and losing her v-card she rejects him.
Or maybe he tries to claim power in the end but is destroyed by it.

Allison used to be a socially awkward nerd in high school, and when she went to college she joined a sorority full of shallow bimbos. She caved to their peer pressure and forced herself to discard her old self (which she was more or less comfortable with) to fit in with them and has a great deal of bottled up self hatred because of that. I think that's also why she's acting so bossy and rude now that she's suddenly in power, she's trying to let out all her insecurity by acting better than everyone else.
Back when Abaddon first tried to run KSBD on the MS Paint Adventure Forum this facet of Allison's personality was central to the plot and because that version was in quest format and not comic format, we got to see what was going through her head a lot better than now. Struggling between her natural nerd self and her bimbo persona was a core part of her personality, which would be a great parallel with Cio's struggle against Yabalchoath if it was played up here.
What I'm saying is that this part of her is still there but it's just not nearly emphasized enough. It would improve Allison a lot.

IMO, ksbd's writing/narrative is serviceable, the prose ranges from great to bleh, but the design and colour is good enough to carry the comic even if the writing was bad.

I like Allison and think she's decent as a protagonist, though sometimes I wonder if it's really necessary for her to be from a modern "Earth as we know it" background. It grounds her and gives her the status as a sort of reader proxy when entering this strange world, but I can't help but shake the feeling that we'd still get that feeling if it was some peasant girl from a planet like Nyave's or something. I dunno, I guess I just find her modern attitude/speaking style to be a weirdly extra contrast when there's already so much going on in the comic

I don't really get what this pile of hate towards Allison and her behavior is about.

KSBD has all but spelled out that the path to power is not being very nice, or humbly requesting aid, but confidently striking out, even when you're at a disadvantage.

Allison cannot act weak in front of anyone. Remember how that worked out when she got dragged through Hell 71? She does. Remember how she lightning'd Mottom's husband-tree and then got her shit kicked in later because she can't control the power she has?

Wow, I wonder how she's going to react when someone offers her a magical fix. How do people react when you give them an almost too good to be true solution in our world? There's a reason con men can make a living.

How is Allison going to beat Mottom? She can't. She's going to escape because of her allies. How is Allison going to get Zaid back? By making shady deals with devils and one of the Demiurges to become competent.

And honestly? Allison making the deal is the only logical outcome. She's beaten, tired, scared...and Incubus is Incubus. He has literally been doing this for hundreds of years,

Now, she might not be likeable. But compare Allison being dragged around by White Chain to Allison telling her allies they'd better be straight with her or she'll throw them off her ship. Commanding they reveal their motivations and past vs meekly following someone with authority around? Sounds like some serious fucking development to me.

Her development so far is fine. Her taking the deal is fine. People who aspire to Royalty, if you haven't noticed, aren't the pinnacles of good and light. Chill the fuck out and see what happens, we're like what, 1/3rd of the way through?

Lastly, doesn't Allison have her philosophy degree already? I keep seeing people calling her a teen but fairly certain she's early 20s.
