S1 SU had body horror, masturbation jokes, and SEX SEX SEX everywhere, not just with the lesbian polymoms but with rose and greg and even some very light stuff with steven and connie as well (just cute little things like being embarrassed by the adults, just showing that they had sexuality at all). it also had no problem with saying 'die', even having (alternate versions of) the title character die horribly on screen and later be acknowledged 'watching myself die'.

this all stopped IMMEDIATELY with the start of S2. and by S3 violence of any kind had also been almost entirely cut, except for the special and the 'lore arc' finale episodes. leading to S4 which only had one real fight, in the final episode (while also having some objectively terrible low-quality shit episodes eg. Onion Gang and Gem Harvest).
