It was kind of weird he risked it all on trying to get Bruce's body instead of just settling for a random healthy male body from a much easier target as soon as his technology was able to work with non-close genetics. Batman's body didn't have much to do with why he always won. It's more Batman's mind, and that's the one part Ra's wouldn't get even if he did succeed with his plan since he'd be overwriting it with his own. He got greedy and should've settled for a random healthy male body from someone else.
