I read the first few issues, and one of the better parts of her universe was seeing all the marvel characters in mixed up roles and personas. So of course it gets cut off for two events and then she starts spending a lot of time hopping other universes with familiar characters from the 616 universe.

It was never great, but it was still worth it on its own merits in a small way. If they'd stuck to that they might have been able to eke out a good niche, but Marvel's gonna Marvel and bad writers gonna badwrite, and here we are.

I was thinking surely this is just meant to be her black costume as a counterpart to Peter's black costume before full on Venom (who would be someone else) comes about.
