Otto returns tomorrow. I feel Slott is most passionate when writing Otto. Especially since Superior started. Everything with Peter, his supporting characters and his other enemies doesn't feel like they get as much effort from Slott. To the point where I wonder why he bothers? Stop trying to write Norman, Slott. It's not your strength. Stick to Otto.

I'm sure it'll pop up. It's best done in serious comics, not ones that are mostly humor. One of the things I loved about JMS's ASM run was that he managed to really put some funny stuff out of nowhere.

The sad truth is that Slott loves Otto but he can't write him for shit. Slott's Otto is a moron with no moral compass, who immediately began killing people for no reason and kept spiting Peter far after he should have known better. The whole ghost peter thing was such a colossal misfire that made Otto nothing more than a villain who was hoarding Peter's body.

SpOck was only ever good under Yost and Gage who actually had Otto develop a little after Peter gave his life for him. Like, the idea of this super villain who has a really similar personality to younger Peter getting put through the ringer and deciding to be a replacement Spidey is a novel idea, but Slott never took it seriously.

he HAS to in order for him to get scared and run away. He wasn't going to lose for any other reason. Remember, at the time the Avengers were in the city trying to get Norman and somehow they were getting overwhelmed.

Peter didn't really do anything heroic to save the day, Slott created a situation that could only be resolved by the magical and sudden reappearance of Peter Parker.
