Dofus is arguably better than Wakfu, but it's subscription based. The beginner zone is free if you want to try it out, but after that you have to pay a bit less than 5€/month.
There's also Dofus Touch which is 100% free, but has less content (no Ouginak, Eliotrope nor Huppermage, and some reworks didn't happen either, new zones aren't there either). They don't plan to complete it and it'll advance in a different route from now on. You can play it on tablet and smartphone, although smartphone is kinda uncomfortable from my experience.

What I mentionned was Dofus3 (provisionnal name), which is a new free to play mmo they're working on. It'll work on PC, tablet and smartphone, and it's still on a very early fase. It'll work like Dofus and Wakfu, but instead of unlocking spells through levels you'll collect them like cards, and your appearance will change depending on what "spell deck" you use (for instance if you use mainly fire spells with a Cra, you'll be a centaur). They also want to make players control 3-4 characters (like heroes in Wakfu), having 3-4 players with a total of 12 characters in a fight max.

The two main problems with the dub are :
1 - the lack of direction given to the voice actors, ot sounds like they are either boringly reading lines, or trying to guess the emotions they're supposed to convey, wiyth hit and miss results
2 - the godawful sound mixing, with voices way too loud compared to the sfx and bgm.

There are several other minor problems which could be overlooked if you really wanted to watch the dub, but those two are beyond redemption.
