You're referring to some findings I made a while ago. I think I'll just screenshot it this time so I don't have to type it out every time.

In a labzero stream they accidentally showed their payroll and "Zone" was listed as male.

In this ancient picture by zone it's signed "Peter".

In one of zones streams they mentioned they were "Too old for he-man" in 1989. Another time they said they were "At least 40... or 12"

There's a weird unaccredited animation that shows up on zone's error 404 page with a male voice actor and presumably a self portrait of zone.

Their PO box is in burbank california so it's safe to say that zone is a 40 something year old man named peter who lives in burbank. His friends and family apparently all know about his zone persona according to him.

I think what the op who mentioned tracing meant was something like this: He traces the model sheets for practice to get the feel of the character (You'd be surprised by how much this helps, it's a perfectly valid learning method) THEN goes on to draw freehand and work on the animations while looking at the references.

When he draws live he likely has references open as well (possibly offscreen) and since he has practice already mimicing styles, it thus comes quick to him when drawing something more unfamiliar too.


This is all a guess but this seems likely what someone like Zone might do.
