I've only ever watched the "movie", which was Book 1: Julith. I love the art and its animation style. However, when I tried to watch Wakfu, I found that I didn't like it as much. Is it worth watching? Should I try to force myself to watch more of it?

It's villain of the week for a while, and the plot starts kicking in during the second half of the season. If you don't like the first half at all I don't think it would be worth pushing through since season 2 has a similar balance. But I'm sure someone can give you a link of plot-related episodes if you want to stick to that.
