Why is Avengers compared to Transformers every time?

Avengers is based on famous iconic characters put together in an inovative way by mashing up 5 different movie franchises into one big comic book movie like the cinema industry has never seen before, cattering to every audience with great characters, their interactions, great action and funny moments.

Transformers is just... a movie about cars that turn into robots to fight. It even sounds stupid.
