They've been talking a lot and not delivering, that's for sure. I hear that now they are thinking about a comedic Chibi series spin off. They even had video of a chibi short with a fully functional storyboard art and everything. And the one hour long Christmas Special that became a half hour long hot mess. And has anyone heard anything else about that comic series they were starting? I think the first issue came out on free comic book day, it was only ten pages or so long, and I have heard nothing else about it since. What the hell is going on at Zagtoons? I know they're French, but that's no excuse to blow their operating budget on cocaine spiked champagne and snooty hookers.

I think it's weird how much they reveal to the public about future projects. I admire their ambition, but I've learned from the past, studios or people THIS ambition have issues with following through for whatever reason.

Anyhoo, Zak Storm looks even better than Miraculous. I can't believe a full episode isn't out yet on Youtube, and it's been airing in France for some time now.

I haven't been able to find the words for it, but I think that this is my biggest issue with Zag/the series/etc. at this point.

As soon as the show was even a bit of a hit they started talking about two more seasons with a bunch of specials and a live action movie and 400 side things like comics and shorts, like they're trying to make it into some global phenomenon when it's just a successful kid's show as far as I can tell.

I've enjoyed the series, way more than I thought I would at that, but they are way too ambitious with what they have and likely won't be able to deliver, or it'll be delivered poorly, like how I'm afraid things are gonna go with the new heroes whenever they appear, or like what happened to the one comic, where it ended up just being a weirdly made adaptation of the episodes from S1.

When the trailer dropped, with that dance track really fluid animation and interesting characters I was hyped.
I followed it for years, then it went to CG. I gave it a chance but even if the models and animation had been better, they could not live up to those 2 minutes of potential.

There's a small chance that it'll all work out and they do most of what they wanna do, but the problem is that it's been, what, a full year since the first season? Hype has notably died off for the series at this point and the fact that they want to do shit like a live action movie is hilarious. Not to mention that the quality of writing is likely to take a dip with how much new shit they're doing in the next season or so (new heroes, villains, more loreshit, etc.). I'd say there's a lot riding on how S2 is received.

Take Wakfu/Dofus for example, they reached for the stars after realizing how popular the show was in other countries, but they cashed in too late and everything they've done post-S2 of Wakfu has basically flopped in part because of how dead the fanbase is. As patient as I am, they're running the risk up the longer it takes to release anything new.
