I used some art I've done and finally got around to cobbling together a height comparison chart for my OCs! I tried to get a decent variety of heights, some middling, some very short, and some ludicrously tall. Though these are the heights that's I've always roughly imagined these characters as.

From left to right, it's Sugar, Clair, Tallow, Vivian, Reese, and Toony. I hope that the colors and designs of these characters don't clash and are fairly distinct and recognizable.

You can post just about anything here. Well, my advice is always to look and study both human models and artists you admire. I'm a massive Dragon Ball fan and I often look up a page in the books or a frame in the show and look at those, but that's just me. Here's my latest finished thing, it's the warrior class from Dragon Quest, which Toriyama also drew, just to show you kind of what inspires me.

I regret not getting into art and drawing earlier because now my brain is overflowing with ideas; but I draw horribly.

At least now; I'll have something to strive forward too. I'll try drawing 3 things everyday and look up tutorials for figure drawing. I really want to draw the same thing for 30 days and see if there's a difference in improvement

On the verge of pitching a comic about a distant future post-post apocalyptic world where the world was literally shattered by a cataclysmic event many centuries before.

The American Midwest is now a feudal system of various nations and city-states where monarchies are descended from modern corporate power.

An incredibly petty aristocratic thief and her enabling low class partner in crime team up with a fugitive monk with a mystical relic that allows access to almost any location.

While being pursued by the monk's monastic order, they take to the high seas of the Great Lakes, engage in piracy, get in feuds with the King of Minnesota and the Imperial Crown Princess of Detroit, and somewhat inadvertently destabilze the entire region.

Got concept art and everything. Just trying to finish the script and get the pitch pages done.

The book anon mentioned is good. Really, you need to study bones and muscles, specifically, how they move and relate. It's not always exciting, but drawing skeletons and muscles atmdifferent angles and poses makes a tremendous difference, and when you're ready to apply it to character work, you'll be so much better at it. Ditto for clothes.

Really, if you spend 3 hours a day drawing with the intent of learning (and not with the intent of making big, finished pieces), you'll see a tremendous difference.

The only thing separating artists is the time they invest. When you put enough practice in, you realize that you're not measuring skill so much as training.
