Justice League cartoon made it sound like it was "always on," and the comics haven't always been consistent, so I don't know what the official word is. I just figured the TT was the thing that protected his lovers like it protected the things he catches/holds/carries

Ehh JL is an alternate take and they admittedly didn't really understand how to write him or the other higher powered members together without making stories end too quickly so they just lowered everyone's power level.

But I don't know if there's a full explanation page like that scene in comics. Just kind of common sense based on how they write him. Basically the only times you see where it's like DBZ and he has to actively try to not break shit is in edgy Elseworlds or for comedy. There's generally not that sense of anxiety where he's actively trying not to fuck everything up.

I remember when the Dino Island story time was up and folks were commenting about how Jon wouldn't get to hear WWII military stories from his grandfather.

It would be nice if, at least, Martha was alive, but it's already been indicated in Superwoman or somewhere else that the storyline from Action/Superbro's run, that both of them died at the same time, is the current reality. Especially since we haven't seen General Sam and Lois Mom, not that they were ever very Kent family friendly (or Lucy for that matter).

The Kon with Martha at Smallvile and Kara with the Kents at Smallville are proof that there's good stories to be told with one or both Kents - that we aren't going to get with Jon.

Since they've established that Jon's also aware of the multiverse from Dino Island, I wouldn't mind a two-parter of Super Sons where they get visited by Chris Kent, or pre-Flashpoint Kon.

It's considered one of the best, critically. It's hard to find any reviews on line that don't consider those 19 issues amongst the best of the New 52.

It's the only set of trades from that time frame that I've read multiple times.
