It's amazing how Zack started out so much better than Gigi and is now so much worse.

Everybody likes to shit on this because they're butthurt she threw a tantrum and deleted all her funny vidya games like a spoiled brat, which admittedly blew, but the real problems with this comic are that the protagonists are boring (the antagonists are the heart of the comic and the pinnacle of her work as a character designer) and that she blew her twist load less than halfway through it so now there's no tension left.

It's a 200 page story at best stretched to well over a thousand. And, yes, it shouldn't have bothered with "twists" and just started with villain protags who are revealed to not be so bad over time. Would have helped to better examine Cuc and Almond's character flaws, too.

Being a webcomic at all doesn't help it any. Webcomics are an objectively terrible medium for telling a long-form story because it will take over a decade to roll it out and a story that takes that long to finish will inevitably spiral out of the creator's control because they can never reconcile slow comic time with how fast real time progresses outside of it.

I just think it's too slow even though the author has been consistently updating since it started with only a few breaks here and there. I dunno, stuff is clearly happening but it never feels like much really ever happens. I sometimes see on /co/ a butthurt anon say how the author is a cunt, but I never had to encounter it myself and there have been no criminal acts as far as I'm aware, so it's whatever.

I really like everything about how the comic looks visually, except maybe some of the paneling and action stuff could be pushed a little more in terms of using different angles and more diagonals to feel more dynamic.

This is very much true. I can't really process how or why this happens. She's generally a very diligent updater, and most of her breaks stem from her doing other work. She's not at all lazy and she spends so much time on this comic that I'd understand if she got sick of it one day.

And yet, the story moves like a glacier, in spite of this.

Her other lower-effort b/w comic about the acolyte and goddess feels more satisfying to read in terms of pacing even though it looks like it's sketched in ms paint with the binary pencil. Well, she's not even in her mid 30s yet so she has a lot of time to figure it out for future stories

True enough. The other comic was pretty good, and that makes CQ spinning its wheels in the mud even more confusing for me, because she's clearly capable of proper pacing.

I disagree, every quest so far has been a deviation from "the script" to keep the reader on their toes, meanwhile there are still a lot of unresolved plot points. Glitchmaster and Cosmo have yet to fuck up the narrative, the new guy NK look a like showed up and we don't know what his deal is, we don't know why the Oracle is so weird about this whole spiel, we don't know the origin of Cucumber's wand, which has been given special emphasis. More importantly, we don't know how the whole issue with the disaster masters going away thing is going to get resolved.

I wish /co/ talked about this comic more often. I've actually really liked the direction it has been going in lately (except this weird focus on this tv series), and it's not as though Gigi actually goes full SJW and runs her mouth on twitter as much as /co/ says she does
