Well, after over two weeks, it's finally mentioned. You'd think someone would have picked up that trash by now though.

Will it be another two weeks until it's mentioned again? Probably.
>>
how can one man be so bad a pacing?
>>
>>93415636
Man, I really assumed that no one would know what's going on. But I guess Danny really was coping by becoming a ukelele man.

I would've preferred the opposite. Well, what I really would've preferred is seeing the aftermath in real-time but this skip is not delivering at all.

I expect the exploration of why Joyce is casually hanging out at the scene of her rapist's defeat and saviour's mental break will be similarly dissatisfying.

Tonight, we get a new character, and she appears to be JUST the breath of fresh air this cast needed!

Another abrasive female with instant negative likability! Yaaaayyyyy...
>>
>>93416132

I haven't read this in weeks

Did she somehow hijack that one senator's Twitter?
>>
>>93416132
oh ho, how wacky is that? Identity theft lul
>>
>>93415636
So I'm just goin' to assume Amber kidnapped Ethan and she and the Rapist-formerly-known-as-Ryan are currently Bonnie-and-Cyldeing it.
>>
>>93416171
It's not really identity theft. Also, robin gave it to her wilingly.
>>
>>93415636
It's kinda hard to take this 'DRAMATIC' scene seriously when the dramatic conflict involves a crazy person who dresses up as a yellow superhero in a realistic down-to-earth setting. Not to mention all the wacky humor that feels like a Nick live-action show every so often.

This is like the worst soap-opera ever.
>>
>>93415636
Nineteen days. We've gotten one acknowledgement, but I'm going to keep the counter going until we see Amber herself.

>>93415725
Easy: Make all your comics in one all-nighter binge so that daily pacing doesn't actually become a factor in the writing process.

>>93415901
>I expect the exploration of why Joyce is casually hanging out at the scene of her rapist's defeat and saviour's mental break will be similarly dissatisfying.
Ten bucks that Willis doesn't ever explore this facet.

>>93416132
Not only that, but you can also see the other new character at the edge of the last panel.
I hate them both already, and the other new girl hasn't even talked yet.

>>93416168
She used Robin's phone to post to Twitter. Apparently while she was at it she also managed to get her password and copy her 2FA credentials to Becky's own phone, which is not actually that thing that is possible.

>>93416246
I just wonder what the fuck happened in that three-day time skip that somehow ended in Danny picking up the ukulele, Mary becoming sexually attracted to Carla, and Ethan, Dorothy, and Amber disappearing into the ether.

in b4 Willis starts a Kickstarter for a Dumbing of Age OGN: "Three Days at Indiana University" or some shit.
>>
>>93416377
...Not really.

Robin let Becky borrow her phone. She was also retroactively okay with some of the tweets that Becky posted, but has not as yet demonstrated knowledge that Becky retained permanent access to her account.

>Apparently while she was at it she also managed to get her password and copy her 2FA credentials to Becky's own phone, which is not actually that thing that is possible.

It is totally possible to reset someone's password and change their phone number if you have access to the phone whose number is registered to their account. These actions are entirely consistent with the description that actually appeared in the comic.

I don't know where you got "get her password and copy her 2FA credentials".
>>
>>93416606
How is she even able to think that? Isn't she from "computers are made by faggots in hell" family/school?
>>
>>93416132
>low-key steering federal policy
>through a disgraced politician's twitter
Sure thinks highly of herself.
>>
>>93416680
She has incontrovertible proof that she is God's chosen one. And by God I mean Willis.
>>
>>93416606
I assumed that "hijacking" was Becky's Totes Tubularâ„¢ way of saying that she had assumed direct control, i.e. hacking.

Anyways, the point of 2FA (here called "two-step authentification" ("authentification" is not an actual word)) is that it requires a second confirmation point in order to confirm an identity. It's one thing to enter an account utilizing a password and changing their phone number, but 2FA is generally configured outside of apps themselves; there are several apps such as Google Authentication and Authy that allow for this. 2FA credentials are a unique combination of the authentication app, the device being registered, the website/user account itself, and other factors such as date and time.

Simple put, Becky can't just "take over" two-step authentication. Not unless Robin and/or her interns were so inept so as to have 2FA passwords sent via text message, which is slowly but surely being phased out. I'm not even sure if it's a thing on Twitter.
>>
>>93416460

>Mary becoming sexually attracted to Carla

What?
>>
>>93416932
It's hyperbole. All she did was suggest Carla let down her hair.

But it really does seem to be the case that far more interesting things happened during the three-day time skip than what we're going through at this very moment.
>>
>>93416972

Don't you frighten me I thought he was slipshining again
>>
>>93417023
Honestly, I can almost see the upcoming Slipshine being about all the sex that happened during the three-day time skip.

Because that's the kind of anti-climactic shit Willis would pull off.
>>
>>93416680
Becky is very stupid.

I'm not sure if Willis intends for her to be stupid, but she really is.

>>
>>93417235
who's stupider: Becky, or the world around becky for actually thinking anything positive about her?
>>
>>93416132

As if there weren't enough reasons to hate Becky. Now she's using Robin without regard as to how doing this might negatively impact Robin's life. But as long as she gets what she wants, she really can't be bothered to care about others.

But then this is nothing new for her or most folks in this comic, is it? Almost all seem to be complete sociopaths.
>>
>>93416606

Robin's speaking patterns continue to make me cringe.

Nobody talks like that, Willis.
>>
>>93416132
oh great, the new character is horrible. we needed more like that
>>
>>93417338
More likely, Becky will end up helping Robin do an image turnaround because DoA is a world where Becky's retarded tweeting has mass appeal.
>>
>>93415636

Do mods keep deleting the threads for no reason?
>>
>>93416132
This comic is so bad I may have to pull a Cerberus and dissect it panel by panel.

1. That woman may be the ugliest woman Willis has ever drawn. She looks like Willis just said "fuck it" on her hair. I can't imagine this hair in real life looking anything but JUST.
2. That woman looks like she's gonna fucking SNAP at any minute.I don't know if that's intentional but her souless eyes are haunting.
3. "Don't know what's so important about bein' on your phone anyway"
What person in the 21st century would fucking say this?
She could be texting someone, she could be checking emails, she could be organizing her planner. PHONES CAN DO A LOT OF SHIT NOW.
4. Becky is continuing to hijack Robin's Twitter feed, which, if is not illegal fucking should be. And the way she says that, she seems to believe what she's doing is not only important but something she at all SHOULD be doing.

Also she just sorta said that out loud. I know Willis hates thought bubbles but why would she say that out loud?

God this whole comic is a fucking TRAIN WRECK.
>>
>>93416606

>the folly of trying to appeal to the empathy of those who would rule you

The morals of these stories can be pretty backwards, huh
>>
>>93417539
Becky's just using her budding Computer 101 skill to become a white knight hacker.
>>
>>93416132
So not only did Becky take Robin's twitter over without any consequences, she is now steering federal policy via it.

This is the pinnacle of Where's-Becky-ism and god answering lesbian prayers. I don't even know if one unpopular congresswoman could get anything she wanted at all done federally, let alone steering the general policy. And all via twitter? Or I guess Robin is reading the tweets, agreeing with them (despite all her earlier protests to Leslie and Becky's faces) and is following through with incredibly shrewd and clever negotiation of her whole party, despite her earlier incompetence, unwillingness to rock the boat or stand out at all and the huge scandal that was implied to have sunk her standing and lost her the Republican party's endorsement.

And I know the good answer is probably to say, "well, Becky's probably just exaggerating," and if this was any other comic I might agree, but I really think Becky has literally backdoored herself into controlling half of the legislative branch.

Anyway, there are two of those characters Willis showed off in tumblr previews long ago. Both angry brown Faye and Eyebrows peeking in that last panel there. I wonder if Becky will try and sic them on Leslie or vice versa.
>>
>>93417817
Robin is actually in a pretty good position to be a viable third-party candidate. She's got name recognition, experience, had multiple successful campaigns under her belt, solid conservative credentials, and could easily spin the current scandal in a way that could allow her to peel away socially liberal voters. If not independent then easily as a Libertarian. Of course, seeing as it's currently October there is no way that her party would drop her as not only would she more than likely be legally required to appear on the ballot, her scandal doesn't involve anything illegal or that could get her removed from office.
>>
>>93416132
I do like Becky's outfit, transforming tie aside.

Also I found the posts where these designs were first shared. Eyebrows is Mindy, and Angry Glasses is Anna.

First reaction to them being posted along with the current Becky design:
>Seeing these three pics back to back makes me think these two new characters are gay friends Becky finds and befriends and/or makes out with.
>>
>>93418085

>>
>>93416761
If there one thing I've learned from the news over the last year or so it's that politicians are all fucking retards when it comes to digital security. Robin probably had a folder labled "All my passwords and personal information" and her phone unlock is 0000
>>
>>93417658
I think the moral is that Leslie thinks women shouldn't be in politics and that boning them to ruin their career, basically banking on homophobia to achieve this, is your moral responsibility and totally not because you are a hypocrite who thinks with their vagina.

Leslie sure seems like a misogynistic homophobe.
>>
>>93420972
No, Leslie just wants to slam clam. Roz is on a singular mission to destroy the career of Indiana's first Latina congressional representative using manufactured sex scandals and is banking on homophobia, and before that misogyny, from the voters that is fueled and capitalized on by Robin's liberal political opponent. For feminism.
>>
>>93416132
Is this Faye cross dimension hopping casually between universes?
>>
>>93420040
Even if this is meant to be a commentary on the digital security of politicians, it's still a misunderstanding of the actual technology. 2FA is designed to avoid this exact scenario.

I was going to suggest that Becky stole the phone from Robin, but Robin's phone is peach.

So either it's Leslie's phone or it's Becky's phone, which I guess she bought with her pizza-joint waitressing money.
>>
>>93423707
If she's taking home her tips at the end of the day or getting paid weekly then she shouldn't have much issue affording a phone at this point considering she's presumably not paying for anything else.
>>
>>93423877
Let me check the Dumbiverse calendar real quick:
http://www.ci-n.com/~jcampbel/doatimeline.html

>Becky gets her job at the end of "Glower Vacuum" (Monday, Week 6)
>It is now "The 'Do' List" (Saturday, Week 6)

Unless she's managed to make $300-plus in tips and got herself a two-year phone contract during that time skip, we're still up shit creek in knowing where her phone came from.

It explicity didn't.

Yes they get along. Robin gets along with Leslie too, but their main difference of opinion was that Robin thought it was fine to let organizations that help homeless people and people at risk choose to discriminate based on orientation. And Becky is the worst counterargument for that because she's getting along more than fine without the aid of those organizations.
>>
>>93426581
Honestly, I forgot how their conversation happened within days of it being posted.
That's what happens when you tell a story at a snail's pace without anything of true importance actually occurring. The most that happens in your strip that you've posted is "Leslie and Joyce enter the room." And in >>93426265, all that happens is that it becomes night time.

As for Becky and Robin, you should also note that Robin admits to having warmed up to Becky immediately. And that just adds to her being a Mary Sue.
>>
>>93426581
I don't remember Robin talking like a hayseed retard in Roomies, It's Walky, or even Shortpacked. I thought her entire schtick was physical powerhouse (and genki when exposed to sugar) with only a one-off gag about her becoming a senator in SP that no one expected to become an actual thing.

>Anyways, the point of 2FA (here called "two-step authentification" ("authentification" is not an actual word)) is that it requires a second confirmation point in order to confirm an identity.

What? 2FA just means it sends you an email or a text message. Becky has access to Robin's text messages, and quite possibly her email, while she is holding her phone.
>>
>>93427098
She would cut a lot of words off, like "and" to "an'" but not always, and I she would say stuff like "fo' rizzle." Willis probably just amped that part of her up. It's not supposed to be hayseed, though, I think it's a put on urban slang? I dunno exactly, but I don't like it.

I generally think of her as an obnoxious asshole thinking back to SP, but I haven't read the whole thing in a while. Every time I check a strip that usually fits her MO.
>>
>>93427611
2FA is trying to phase out text message delivery because of how insecure it can be, and is trying to push it into using whatever native application a website or program might have.

Becky shouldn't be able to get into Robin's Twitter account because it would require Robin's phone to enter, unless she removed the 2FA entirely after stealing her password.

Amber tops those four for me. She's not just an awful person, she's TWO awful people.

She uses Dina's and Joyce's, depending on where she is and who she's with.

Or she went and got one during the missing 3 days.
>>
>>93424897
That makes Agatha an alternate Robin.
>>
>>93427098
She had two major stints as a politician in Shortpacked. She was supposed to be a Palin analogue.
>>
>>93429625
Yeah, I'll add her to the list. I'd kinda forgotten about her today because her story is being so seriously neglected.
>>
So, to recap. During the three-day time skip, the following things happened:

- A police investigation was held regarding Ryan being wounded by Amber on the steps outside of the dormitory. By Saturday, the crime scene is cleared, though there is still police tape lying around for some reason.
- In this time Ethan has apparently gone missing, though it isn't clear whether he just hasn't been seen since Friday or if he actually disappeared after the stabbening.
- Similarly, Dorothy and Amber have yet to be seen, though they are not claimed to be missing.
- At some point, Becky grew fearful that Chloe (the dormitory room manager) was aware of Becky being a squatter and began sleeping over at Leslie's home.
- The password to Joe's "Do" List was publicized, and the female student body not only found their own entries on that list but became able to recognize Joe's physical appearance from a distance.
- Danny underwent some kind of self-introspective acid trip and came out with a knowledge of the ukulele.
- Mary put on a nice dress and complimented Carla. There's not much more to this other than my boner at the thought of Mary coercing Carla into some kind of confusing sex.
-
-
- Oh, and Joyce got her wrist cast removed.
- And Ruth got a haircut.

I miss anything? What characters other than Dorothy, Amber, and Ethan have we yet to see?
>>
>>93430984
It's not that Becky thought Chloe was aware, it's that when Ruth sees her, she looks the other way but is not happy about it. She's stuck between wanting to help Becky because of her predicament and wanting to follow the rules to not cause another grandpa visit.

He can't tone her down or else he'd be a sexist bigot trying to change a beautiful, quirky, independent lesbian character to make her more appealing to homophobic misogynists.

He has to make everyone else the most awful people you'd never want to meet by comparison.

Problem is, he's stuck doing that for MULTIPLE characters now, so we're on a exponentially increasing curvature of shittyness trending towards infinite awful.
>>
>>93433153
Oh, so the Game of Thrones writing strategy.
>this is Dany, a controlling, immature, angry bitch
>oh everyone else are slavers and stuff, even when she's wrong she's right
>this is Sansa, she was a bitch in Season 1 and now she's surrounded by murderers and rapists for four seasons, don't you like her?

If your only method of making a character likable is juxtaposition, you have a really unlikable character.

Sansa got better in Season 6 finally, yeah I'm a showfag fuck off it's got more working parts to dissect
>>
>>93432896
I wouldn't really call her bitchy, except maybe to Dorothy at times, although that behaviour has an impetus. She's obnoxious, sickeningly/delusionally upbeat and in your face (which is what she would call "loud and fun") but it's not with much negative emotions, Angry Anna isn't really fitting that mold.

Wew.

I really can't find the energy to care about Becky in any way. She's not as bad as Amber, who I actively despise, but Becky strips don't evoke anger, just... ennui. It basically just means waiting until things get back to Joyce & Joe.
>>
>>93437687

Becky seems to have switched from "my dad has come at me with a gun, my world is falling apart" to "fuck you dad, you deserve to rot in jail" within a few WEEKS of the incident on campus. A better writer would imply that she's in deep denial and repressing her trauma, but this is David "I Hate My Mom" Willis, so...

>>
>>93437879
Puddin'head just has a shitty design; Becky's already messed up face gets worse and New Girl's face has something wrong with it that I can't put my finger on. Might have something to do with the copy/paste, might have something to do with the lack of dot or bridge on the nose, might have something to do with the fact she kinda looks like a pallet swap of Marten from QC.
>>

I think it's the fucked up nose and the gigantic eye-caterpillars for me

New Girl's lips look like a rotated quotation mark. Also, she never stops smiling. Also, Willis's dot eyes are so commonplace that any character with regular eyes aside from the main cast looks... off.

Someone page me when Joe and Joyce and back onscreen. : \ It's maybe the only set of character interactions in this entire comic right now that I actually give a shit about.

Amber killing Ryan and her broken psyche "copying" him and giving her a split personality (or a third personality I guess) would probably make her a better character. A shortstack occasionally taken over by the personality of a spaghetti-scarred rapist.
