It looks like every other Marvel movie, but with Spider-man. Which is odd because every Marvel character with the exception of Cap is a quipping manchild like Spider-man. They can either tone down his quips (making him more serious/notSpidey), leave him quipping as much (so he will be like every other marvel character, but wearing a spidey outfit), or increase his quip count (given how the MCU can't handle character moments and drama without forcing in a joke to break tension, is a bad idea). Considering how the "comedy" makes for shallow forgettable movies devoid of character growth, I can only imagine how Spider-man must be once they up the ante.

I thought they did the amazonians pretty well.

Going in to Wondy I was expecting a ton of cringe and head shaking moments. Especially considering the praise. Usually twitter praise means cringe. But I think I ended up mostly liking it because of the lack of moments like that.

Like, we all knew the "No Man's Land/But I'm a Woman" thing was going to happen. But IIRC she didn't even say it before climbing that ladder. It just kind of let the fact that she was a woman walking across "no man's land" speak for itself. Which isn't subtle, in any way, but is still much more subtle than most movies these days which would've had her say (ala Return of the King) "I AM NO MAN" as she did the thing no man can do.

I agree with you about all your other points, but Michael Keaton's Vulture looks like the most enjoyable thing about the movie.

Grounding a villain and giving them recognisable motives and traits is the key thing. Keaton's Vulture looks promising to me because he is understated.

Ego is one of the best Marvel villains because despite him being a planet he's a very accurate portrayal of a narcissist.
