Yeah, as long as you didn't buy it thinking it'd be a How To Draw book. The best audience is people who already make little animations on Youtube and stuff, meaning they have a method and just need to refine it.

Been working towards making small animations, I got a light box in my closest and I'm just waiting for my paper to come through the mail now. I guess I just read a couple of pages and look at the pictures before the paper gets here.

The Loomis books are pretty good. You may be able to find them in pdf for for free online

IMO what you want to do is get the theory from stuff like Betty Edwards' "Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain". The whole "draw a circle then draw another circle" thing (or at a more advanced level, stuff like Loomis) is only really helpful once you have the basic ability to reproduce things you see. Once you have that, stuff like the attached image is completely reasonable to you.

Pick up Strength Training Anatomy.

It's not even supposed to be an art book but it's a better anatomy reference than 90% of art books. And you can work on getting /fit/ at the same time.
