DC put relatable mega fanboy Geoff Johns front and center to apologize on behalf of the company, said they were going to bring back things that exemplified DC that had been missing recently, said they were going to do right by the fans, then made it easy for retailers and customers to get as many comics in their hands as possible to show they were being legit.

Marvel blamed their fans for their low sales in a retailer only conference, doubled down on things that made readers angry, hyped a series of homage covers as the best thing ever, and are still fucking over retailers and fans sales and price-wise for this inititave.

There's a reason people are pissed.

It's a pretty big deal that Chthon killed him yet it's brushed past.

It was weird because High Evolutionary was mentioned a ton, as were the Knights of Wundagore.

Meanwhile, the Wundagore Everbloom was a major plot point of Tom King's Vision.

I think they pushed High Evolutionary and muh science experiment angle because they were trying to parallel what they thought the MCU was doing. In Robinson's SW solo, Chthon and Set were not even mentioned once, despite being a big part of Wanda's history, yet here we see Chthon suddenly connected to Wanda again to a degree not seen since the Busiek era.

Which is what makes this editorial volte face so intriguing.
