Get in here, amigos. I said I was going to do a story time yesterday and here it is.
Book one: Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life.
It's been a while since i've read this. and looking back these are actually kind of rough art-wise.
Worst case scenario we get to laugh at an old comic that hasn't aged well in it's hipster stasis chamber.
>Scott Pilgrim is dating a high schooler!
Excellent_first_lines.txt
Did Scott ever finish college or did he drop out?
>>93406116
I'm pretty sure it's explained somewhere in book 2 or 3? It might be a spoiler so I don't want to say..
I might need a bump here pretty soon. Not so sure about how fast threads go by on here
>>93405638
man I forgot how weird the story was for this. I just remember playing the game that came out on Xbox 360 and loving the old school beat em up vibe it had, along with the fun little 8 bit music it had.
>>93407706
the game was top tier especially for a movie game. Too bad its gone from existence forever.
>>93405638
It's been a while since I read it, might as well read it again, are you going to do the 6 volumes + FCBD?
>>93408035
I'm planning on it. Gonna take a little break once I finish up this book though. Might have to do book 1, 2, and 3 today and tackle 4, 5, and 6 tomorrow.
Annnd be right back I have to deal with an exterminator
Ok, back to the story.
>>93405883
Man! Wallace was the best part of the book
>>93407755
I still have it on my PS3, but I have no friends to play it with. Life is cruel.
Thank you for storytiming this OP. Scott Pilgrim is comic book perfection.
Any particular reason why you're storytiming the color version?
>>93408696
Same thing except I have it saved on an xbox 360 hard drive. If only there was multiplayer I could play with my friends. There needs to be a steam release.
Life is pain indeed, anon.
>>93408748
no reason specifically, I just had the colored versions saved a long time ago. I actually haven't read the old black and white versions in a very long time.
This was a good read because I haven't read the comics before and they're not too far off from the movie. It's too bad it flopped, but I enjoyed it.

The movie was pretty faithful to the source material, I feel like that might have been why it did as poorly as it did. Only fans of the comic would appreciate this level of detail.
>>93408844
At least its a good movie to those who can appreciate it. I've heard it said here a thousand times, but I feel like an animated series would have done a lot better.
>>93408844
also potential spoiler in that video for anyone reading for the first time. Sorry
>>93408844
>I feel like that might have been why it did as poorly as it did.
Doubt it. Live-action movies tend to fail because they aren't faithful to the source material. Movies like Scott Pilgrim and Kick-Ass were one of the few I know that were, and they deserve the recognition.
>>93408844
I personally didn't read the comic before watching the movie.
I still really enjoyed it as a movie without knowing about how close it was to this comic.
>>93408961
Same here. Finally read the comic a few months ago and loved it too.
>>93408940
definitely, I thought the movie was great. I'm just saying that Edgar Wright should have made a generic love story if he wanted the movie to do well.
Personally I'm glad that he went the way he did. I would rather have a good movie that does poorly in the box office than a blockbuster that sucks.
>>93408961
>>93408995
You guys are probably cool then. I went with my some of my friends from uni at the time who didn't read the comics and they were totally lost.
>>93408752
There was multiplayer DLC actually.
I bought it but never actually got around to playing online unfortunately.
>>93405638
Thanks OP. I've never read Scott Pilgrim. Today's as good of a day as any.
Oh shit I didn't type anything.
No problem man! I hope you enjoy.
>>93409325
and that time I didn't reply to you
>>93409262
I forgot to turn on my brain today.
And there we are! there might be some follow up pages but its been so long since i've saved these i'm not sure
I'll start up book 2 after a short break. Gonna get some food and play some vidya with some friends.
>>93409729
those are sketches and other stuff not important
>>93409747
nice.
thanks for uploading all these
>>93410123
Not a problem, amigo.
Has been a long time since I read this. Thanks for the dump, OP.
I really love Scott Pilgrim. Maybe it's because I relate having grown up in northern Ontario.
>>93406155
Is Scott's mom racist?
>>93407261
Every time I reread the first book, I always feel worse for Knives. She was so blindly into him (I'm pretty sure he was the first guy she really liked) and Scott fucked with her for an entire book and a half.
>>93408096
Thanks again OP. I was in the last thread and I was glad to see you storytime it today.
>>93408844
>>93408809
I think it was also poor marketing. It really wasn't marketed well, besides a really good animation and a few commercials I vaguely remember.
I'm not mad though. It'll probably stick out as a cult favorite, which I can certainly live with.

>>93405753

>>93405819
This part still always throws me off. How did Scott convince Knives to go out with him while riding the bus with her mom, when her mom was unaware of the relationship?
>>93410477
I was the Knives in a relationship just like this. My ex was even exactly like Scott, to the point that reading the comic makes me feel weird. It does suck to have that happen to you, and the feeling of never being good enough no matter how you try really messes with you at a tender age like that when you're going through so many emotional and physical changes.
>>93410696are you a boy by any chance?
>>93409352
>>93409375
>>93409399
>>93409429
>>93409451
I'm still kinda sad they didn't go with the whole sing-along in the movie and had Matthew do all of it.
>>93410696
What happened anon?
>>93406116
Nobody, not even Scott, knows
This comic gives me a nostalgic feel
>>93411606
>This comic gives me a nostalgic feel
Because you relate to the character or because you read this series long ago?
>>93405638
Thanks Anon!, Can you please tell me where I can download all the images at once?
Is Scott really an asshole? I think he's just air headed and doesn't spend much time thinking how others feel, but he's not a bad guy.
>>93411854
Have you read the comic before? I don't want to spoil anything, but this is something that the story dissects a lot.
>>93411879
I read it, but it's been a while. I mean, he made some mistakes and he's pretty selfish, but I can't see him as a bad guy. I don't think he ever meant to hurt anyone.
>>93412042
I don't think he meant to hurt anyone, but he was a selfish dude who conveniently forgot to mention to his girlfriend that he had broken up with her and was seeing someone else. It's hard to tell how much of that jerk behavior was actually his fault, and he's not a villain or anything, but he wasn't a good friend or boyfriend and part of his journey is realizing that.
God Scott is so unlikable.
Bumping for OP.
>>93411754
not sure, I dowloaded them a long time ago from some free comic website during one of my programming classes or some shit. I think I literally saved each image individually.
Alright guys. I'm going to start a new thread and dump book 2 in like 10 minutes.
>>93413941
Wait make it like 20 instead. I have some meme affairs to sort out.
So what exactly did Knives see in Scott?
You know what? things kind of just didn't work out. Some random stuff popped up when I was going to post and i'm kind of unmotivated to do it tonight. I'll get the next book started tomorrow as soon as I can. Until I see you guys next, goodnight, amigos.
Tomorrow: Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Prepare yourselves....
>>93414696
With the debut of the wonderful Lisa!
>>93407706
said game which no one can ever buy/play again(unless they still have it) plus no iso or emulator WEW "owning" digital games is the best thing ever who needs physical copies
>>93414758
Yes!!
>>93407437
What is she saying?
>>93405883
Wallace the best.
bump for reading.
Hipster shit.
>>93416269
you
Volume 1 is rough in particular, I think around volume 3/4 he found a good place for this particular series' art and then in 5 he simplified things a bit too much, and then six walked that back JUST enough to pass.
Damn, i didn't remember how good is this
>>93408844
The guy they got playing Matthew Patel is absolutely GOAT
>>93417020
It's a far cry better than Seconds, which while it has more distilled of a cute style, it suffers from being completely unrelatable. It's impossible to see the protagonist and her actions as anything but childish and her looking closer to 12 than her actual age of 27 does it no favors.
It also doesn't score any sympathy when a majority of the shit in her life is going decently, if not productively. Scott was more interesting to follow because Ramona was the only good thing he actually had going and even then it wasn't "great." I guess I empathized more with Scott, and found what he brought out in others as more fascinating.
>>93414799
>can never buy/play again
FUCKING WHAT
I'm gonna be pissed if I fire up my old Xbox and it doesn't have it.
>>93409024
This was the moment when I knew I had to read this till the end.
>>93419244
If you bought it it's yours to keep. The only downside is the online is dead.
>>93419244
Yeah Ubisoft cut it from the store. Something about a copyright contract expiring, I don't know the details. The only way to buy it now I believe is a download code from GameStop.
If you downloaded it before and still have it on the hard drive you can still play it.
>>93405638
Oh boy, I'm finally going to read this legendary comic!
Thanks
