I once heard a rumor that the whole point of Jessica's design was to make her such an overly exaggerated female figure that she would loop back around to being unattractive.

That's cause no piece of fanart can capture her real je ne sais quoi which comes through in the way she moves and speaks as much as it does her physical appearance. If you only look at her still frames in the movie, none of them come off as THAT amazing. She's always a little too cartoony, a little off model, never quite the bombshell she is in your mind, but then once she's in motion and emoting, she comes alive.

Yes, but he did it unknowingly. He wished Jessica would fall in love with him. He wasn't aware that there happened to be a genie in his house that heard his wish.

By the time the novel takes place though, the wish has worn off, and Jessica left him and is sleeping with a human (who is the murder victim of the novel)

Also there is no Judge Doom in the novel.

...Yeah, this is one of those few cases where the movie is FAR better than the source material.

Still a good read. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it
