If webcomics are okay, Sakana is really good. I don't even like slice of life normally but I've really enjoyed it.

The next book will go back to their earlier highschool time though, so no drama.

You should try Lucky Penny, near the climax it turns to shit temporarily, but the rest of the book is worth it.

Are there any good slice of life comics where a human has to live with a monster or a talking animal or some kind? I like mangas like monster musume, and was wondering if theres an american equivalant.
