That was a recent retcon. As best as we can sort out the 05 situation is basicallyuation is the following:
05 get yoinked by BENDISSSSS

Kidclops temporarily dies which proves they are from the same dimension due to causality.

05 stay around long enough that it's impossible for them to go back without anyone noticing a bunch of teenagers just aged nearly a year.

The only reasonable extrapolation from there is that a copy/clone of some sort of the Bendis05 will eventually be sent back with mostly intact memories to explain how they could have been around in the present so long yet still be the 05 which woul actually make almost all of the characters we thought were the 05 X-men to be clones..

Secret wars happens and now suddenly they're from an alternate universe which is explicitly impossible due to Beast stealing Doom's Doomlocks for his time machine which prevents alternate universes from spitting up and the watcher being really fucking mad.

Given the previous points, this would mean that Franklin and Reed simply fixed the horrific time paradox that the Bendis 05 are and they're now trying to get back to an alternate dimension without realizing they don't belong anywhere now.
